Starting to dress more like a GG

This may be considered somewhat taboo to many CDs who feel that skirts and pantyhose are the ultimate feminine right of passage, but I do have a confession to make... I am starting to enjoy more casual women's fashions!

The other day I bought a pair of jeans and a couple of pairs of stretch pants. I also have a couple of pairs of Sketchers and regular sneakers as well. I went to the city last night wearing a black top, black stretch pants and sneakers. I was real comfortable and I still looked good! God, I love the way my butt looks in tight pants! I feel so cute that way...

I will of course, always dress apropriately for the situation. If I'm going to a nice restaurant or a club where the ladies dress up, then so do I. But that goes w/o saying...

Hey, I got home late last night & was sitting on the platform, waiting for my train, eating french fries...

What are your thoughts? Do some of you dabble with a more casual look when you dress?

Hi Lorna,

I've definitely started cas'ing out. One of my favorite outfits is a black pants suit I have. I can wear any kind of heel and it's great, but when I put on my shoes that are more platform like (no heel) I love it. I wore it to a support meeting and got some really good feedback. :)

I've also started enjoying wearing no hose. When you keep your legs shaved an moisturized it actually feels better than hose. :: flinching waiting to be pelted ::

Lorna,
I may just be a casual girl by nature, after all my twin brother the slob is beyond casual :-)
Because of my work situation, I have the wear jeans, slacks, or long skirts when out during the warmer months, but even out at a club I still feel that fem feeling that comes from all the other things like the right earings,, jewlery,, hair style,,, ect.
Bottom line is that I may be more comfortable out casualy dressed than I am when Im squeezed into something that may be more sexy and revealing.
Also I have planned my first daytime shopping trip to be casual also, just trying to blend if its possible :-)
Maybe Im just another lazy CD, but I have more fun when Im comfy !

Hi Lorna,

I have found in the last couple of years that I can be just as happy in a pair of shorts or slacks as I can in a skirt, etc. There is a lot ot say about comfort when dressing that way. ..|/-

I have to agree with you Josie. LOL I look back at the clothes that are in Cami's closet and think back to just a year or so ago and wonder what I was thinking about! Super short skirts, frilly dresses and tight sweaters. I really didn't know what looked good. I am slowly making sence of it all. I took a friends advice and have started to actually look at other gals my age and note what they wear. Jeans and Slacks seem to be the norm, maybe an occasional skirt set. I just want to look Fem so I will put the skirts away if I must.

Hi All,

With all the wonderful support I've gotten this past couple weeks, I am
feeling myself again. I asked to quit early today from work and got an
ok. I called my nail salon. She said I could come right over.

I had been searching for woman's sandals that would double when
in drab. Instead I found some men's that were quite feminine.
I walked in with my Bogota Blackberry toes from the last visit showing.
I was greeted with several Highs, Smiles, and how am I doing today.
Two other of the nail technicians walked over and tried to talk me into
getting a design on my toes. Then the woman that was doing my pedicure
showed a flower design on her big toes. I liked those and told her yes.

She did a wonderful job and when it was time to do the two flowers, the
oldest of the woman came over and watched a foot from my toes.
She was giving the younger girl advice. They are so pretty I am
feeling heavenly again. The other girls looked and seemed very happy
that I was happy. It's so nice feeling myself and not having to pretend
even though I wasn't dressed.

I am always guilty of long posts off subject, but anyway I have never went
out not wearing nylons when dressed. I have been thinking all winter
that this summer I will have to go without nylons to show off my pretty
toes. I hope I feel confident and can do this some time. If I do, all of
you will be the first to hear. I do have 3 pairs of pretty woman's sandals.

I was shocked, my wife commented very happily that my toes were
the prettiest yet, and wondered if I tried another salon. I got no hint
of hurt or disapproval from her. I am so happy right now. I need to
keep these feelings in me to draw upon. I don't believe they are
kind to me only for money. It was only $25. They were
genuinely happy for me and in front of 4 other woman customers too.

I still can't put in words how my soul feels being free of all those
ingrained restrictions I have carried with me all these years, to
throw off the shackles!

Hi Lorna,

While I do appreciate a good skirt once in a while, and often wear without hose ..OO.. , I live in loose tops and shorts (after all, I am in Florida!!) I do love jewelry and accessories so I may have ear rings, a charm bracelet and a diamond ring on with the shorts, but I love the loose feel of casual clothes. They are sooo comfortable. @@9@@

Hi Linda, I readily agree with all that you've written...it should be an entirely personal decision based on what one enjoys and feels most comfortable with. I personally enjoy wearing dresses, skirts, hose, heels, and feel very comfortable and "free" in them...much more comfortable than a suit and tie that constricts and chokes. But each "girl" will make her own choice and if its slacks, jeans, or whatever, then that is a personal decision to make.
