Our trip to Niagara Falls and other fun places

As mentioned somewhere on the forum a few months ago, my wife (Stormy) and I planned a driving vacation for the first part of July to New York ----Niagara Falls and wine country. We wanted to do this for several reasons, in no particular order: We wanted to be away around the time of the anniversary of my son’s death, we wanted to see Niagara Falls in the summer, we both love ice wine, and we wanted a good excuse for a girls vacation. I had gotten my hair cut in a style that could go either way about 6 weeks ago, so no wigs involved, and no guy clothes…all fem all the time.

To summarize – It was great!!!! 10 days straight enfemme and I loved every minute of it!! We have a convertible that we used for the trip -- top down most of the time. We kept getting teased by people we met that we were doing the Thelma and Louise thing…but we think it was more like Lucy and Ethel…lol!!!

The weather could have been warmer – it was between 68-78 most of the time, so packing was a challenge. We had to pack for hotter and cooler weather in case the weather man got it wrong (not that this ever happens) but it all worked out.

We met a lot of very nice people and had a lot of fun bonding with women our age on the tours at Niagara Falls, doing an all day wine tasting (complete with driver), went to the racetrack and sat in the box seats with owners and trainers, went to the casino (is there a theme here), shopping (of course) and more shopping, and golf (we went to 4 different courses). Stormy said she had a great time – and she said she never felt worried about me—it was a girl’s week as far as she was concerned. I blended in everywhere. Never had anyone treat me other than the woman (and a fairly cute one for my age, if I do say so myself) that I presented as and just had a fabulous time.

We have another trip (shoter in duration) planned for August….I’ll report on that one too! Pics may get posted if I can figure out how to do it!

Fun Melyssa and Stormy. Glad the two of you could get away and spend some time together.

My wife and I have done a few femme get-a-way weekends. They were fun but my wife could never get to the full enjoyment and letting herself relax and just have fun. They were always just weekends for me to CD to her even though I would work in lots of things she enjoyed doing. She had fun doing the things just could not get past the CDing making it my time as much as I tried to make it our time.

Glad the two of you got out and had some fun.

Nice!

We were introduced to Ice wine on our trip to Niagra. Really nice. IMHO, the best was a Vidal which came from a winery called Chateau des Charmes.

I am so pleased that you had a good Trip to Niagara Falls.

For a while I lived within about 15 miles of Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.
Hope you had a chance to get over to the Canadian Side and have a good look at the Horseshoe falls, it is spectacular, especially at night when they have all the coloured lights on them.

Any trip to Niagara Falls and the area is well worth seeing, and also if you have time, one should go and see Niagara on the Lake and Brocks Monument, which depicts the war of 1812 between Canada and the United States

That is just sooo neat!!!! Glad you had such a nice time! That area of New York state is very pretty, up around the Finger Lakes and there are some great courses to play also. Every one that I have met from that part of New York has been so nice! It is like NYC is on a different planet.
Cooperstown is another place to see.

Travel on and on!

Love,

Virginia
