Shopping at the Goodwill
I stopped at the Goodwill Store this morning and picked out a pair of stretch jeans, a body shaper, a pair of ruffled panties, and 2 bras. When I checked out the lady at the register said" My, you found some pretty things." I thanked her queitly without admitting they were for myself. Then she said "We have a lot of men come in to buy these type of things." She rang up my purchases and said "Enjoy." I thanked her and said that I would. That's the first time I've actually admitted that I was buying for myself.

First, before I forget, Stephanie, If you have a "Discovery Shop" which here it is for the support of cancer victims, the pieces of jewelry I have found there is fantastic. There clothes are priced somewhat (hell) a lot higher than Goodwill and if you have concerns about being "out" that is probably not the best place to go as they thend to be smaller stores, staffed by volunteers (usually older ladies) who generally may not quite understand "our" wanting to try on a dress. However, I have bought a few things other than jewelery and "en drab" and never had a second look.
I just love to tell the story about plowing through the "Ladies bin" at a Goodwill when this little 'ole lady walks up to me and said, "Kinda in the wrong bin aren't ya sonny?" I held up a very very nice left hand leather glove that I had found and was looking for its mate and I said, "Only if I can't find the mate to this!" Lo and behold, like magic, she reached into the bin and pulled out the mate, handed it to me, smiled a very knowing smile and said, "enjoy, honey!"
I love Goodwill stores!!!!

I love the Goodwill and other second hand stores also. Only problem I have is I tend to buy too much especially when they are having a bag or other special sales. What some people get rid of is our treasure. One of my best finds was a bra the same model as my wife wears except in my size. Except I paid $2 and my wife pays $52 or more.
Of course with the stores hurting to make money there are some great clearance sales out there also.

I have shopped at Goodwill and various Thrift shops both en fem and drab, with and without my wife. Most of the ones I go to have Unisex changing rooms. If I find an item or outfit, I will take to the changing room, try it on and if it does not fit, hang it on the rack outside the changing room. I have never had an employee or customer complain because I was trying on fem items while in drab or en fem.
Most of these stores really don't care who buys what, just as long as you buy something. They are there to sell items and they don't care who you are.

There is a Goodwill store just 2 blocks from my house.
I have gone in drab many times to buy drab items mosty. I look at the womens clothing secction but have never goten up the courage to look through the stuff there. Perhaps I will soon. This site has given me a big boost in that direction

Every act of kindness is repaid, in some small way some where in the future even if we do not see it at the time. Look at it as a spiritual form of compound interest

Re: Shopping at the Goodwill
I went back to the same Goodwill store yesterday and bought another pair of jeans and a long gown with a little bolero type jacket. A different girl was at the checkout. She folded the gown and told me"This should look very pretty on you." I'm convinced they all know who I'm shopping for.Willie W wrote:I stopped at the Goodwill Store this morning and picked out a pair of stretch jeans, a body shaper, a pair of ruffled panties, and 2 bras. Goodwill shopping
I like shopping at the local Goodwill stores very much.
My wife and I went shopping just last evening and I found a pair of sensible heals in my size. Or, at least, they were a size I like and can only just wear.
I was looking for satin night wear as what I have, and have not worn out, are mostly cotton that my wonderful wife has bought for me.
I also find that the sales staff doesn't seem to mind who buys what.
As for perusing the plus sze racks, I usually get so caught up in the merchandise that I don't notice who may be in the area.
Be Well

Went to the range yesterday and busted a few caps. Shakier then I used to be but all on the paper.
Anyway on the way home I stopped at Goodwill and browsed around. Found 2 blouses I wanted to try on. It was crowded but I took my choices to the men"s dressing room.
I was expecting some stares going in or coming out. No one payed any attention. Neither fit tho.
As has been said many times no one really pays attention unless you are flaming obvious. Our Goodwill is huge so one gets lost in the crowd. It was my first time trying on clothes before my purchase. I'm now over that hurdle. It may be tougher in a department store although I've bought lingere and no one even blinked. I guess if I wanted to try on some outer garments there could be some consternation.
I believe I was a lesbian in my past life

This post made me howl, as it brought back the events of my first finding out about my DH's CDing.
As I attempted to turn off the main water line to the house (leaking water line in our fridge) I noticed 2 bags stuffed behind the hot water heater.
Imagine my surprise when I found a full body leotard, 2 bras, high heels, and a bag of balloons.
I was so stunned I didn't look very closely at the items, just stuffed them back into the bag and secluded myself to "think".
After 2 days I went back to the bags and looked again. This time I took the sizes into account...for crying out loud, the man is dating an amazon, and a messy one at that (make-up smeared on the bras). I took the bags and just sat there (bawling) looking at the items, when a green tag on the bottom of one of the shoes caught my eye. GOODWILL...you have got to be kidding me...buying your amazon mistress presents from GOODWILL!! Good god, you unfaithful, cheap bastard!!!
It took me 3 more times of going over the items to realize that the cheap as dirt, messy amazon mistress was in fact my husband.
I may have had no clue about his dressing, but darn it, I knew my husband would at least splurge at the local Wal-Mart to buy his mistress gifts...lol

My first stop
I either go to the GW or SA. As it is, it is difficult to find clothes in my size. The clothes are cheap, which keeps me from feeling bad about spending too much money we badly need. The draw backs are that it is rare that I come away with an outfit. Usually, i have to keep in mind what I already have, and try to match it in my mind as best I can.
You're only as feminine as you feel.
