Anyway, it was about 3am when I got on the train back to Mineola and I... uh well... I kinda sorta fell asleep on the train. Again. LOL!!!
By the time I woke up I was in Long Beach. A good half-hour past the Jamaica hub where i was supposed to switch trains!
I would now have to wait for the next westbound train back to Jamaica in order to get back on the right track! The next train was not due to pass until 6:05 am. Yikes!
Now I didn't want to blow $30 for the cab ride home and was too far to call anyone to pick me up so I decided to just wait for the next train. I camped out on the platform for a couple of hours and woke up around 5. There was a Dunkin Donuts right on the corner so I grabbed a coffee and a doughnut. By the time I started making my way back home on the right track to Mineola the train was filled with morning commuters! I finally walked in my door about 7:30 this morning.
I'm REAL suprised that by 7am with the sun up & my makeup starting to wear thin that I wasn't getting read. (Not that I'd care if I was)
What's the moral of the story? DON'T FALL ASLEEP ON THE TRAIN!!!
It was sort of nice though... it sort of felt like an "all nighter" to me, something I haven't done in almost a decade! I know this situation may sound frightening to many of you but to me it was sort of like a little adventure... besides Lorna has fallen asleep on the train & missed her stop many a night.. OOPS
Have any of you ever fallen asleep on the train & missed your stop? Were you dressed at the time? What would you do if you were in a similar situation?
