I found a nice 3 piece pants suit at a thrift shop. They were having a 50% discount day, so it only cost $5. I didn't try it on because I knew I wanted it and would make it fit even if I had to do surgery (on the suit, not me). Well, I wriggled around a little, but got everything on, and zipped, without ripping. Neither top nor pants stretch, they just fit. They slide into place, and lock. The side-zip pants can't go down over my hips, and back-zip top can't go up over my trapezoids. I can never gain another pound if I want to wear this!
I really like this suit. OK, so I have latent exhibitionist tendencies. There is one aspect of the top I can't figure out. It zips in the back about 3/4 of the length. The back-zipper starts below about 2 inches of sewn seam which goes up to the neck, and closes from top to bottom. What's with that? I had never seen an upside down zipper before. It is factory sewn - label says Tower Hill, made in USA.
That zipper, along with the fit, makes me wonder if this could have been tailored for a male - a certain kind off male. The crotch isn't a generic male cut - you really have to be "tucked in". Yet the overall fit, from jacket shoulder to waist to pant leg is pretty amazing. Wouldn't that be something - a line of female styles with minor adjustments for male geometry? I've heard of $pecialty boutique$ catering to CDs, but a factory? I know I'm dreaming, and just got lucky with this one outfit... right?
A shopping surprise
