Breakfast Out

Post by Alana »

I was in Denver on business the last two days and had a chance to dress that I don't often have any more. Spent the evening at the hotel and actually went outside a couple of times. However, this morning I took a giant step.

I went to breakfast dressed. My first time ever for something this bold. I wore boot cut jeans, with about 3-inch heel boots (of course), a camisole with a blouse, my dark wig, full makeup, and French-tip nails. I walked a couple of blocks to a nearby Denny's. Had to cross a major street during rush hour.

I was nervous as all get out at first. My heart was beating about a thousand beats a minute at first. Straight out, I ran into another woman in the elevator. We exchanged hellos. Then through the hotel lobby; more people; a few more hellos. Then outside and down the street. More people; a few more hellos. Across the street with nothing between me and the rush hour hordes except some clear mountain air.

I finally reached Denny's. Past a couple of smokers at the entrance. Safe inside, or so I thought. Greeted by the hostess and seated. The waitress came and took my order then delivered the food and the check. Up again, paid the cashier, then back down the street to the hotel and the safety of my room.

I was treated courteously by all that I spoke with. I don't know whether or not I was made by any of the people with whom I came in close contact. If I was, there was no overt reaction that I noticed; no raised eyebrows, no snide comments, no pointing and snickering.

By the time I reached Denny's my heart had slowed down and I began to enjoy my little outing. At least most of me enjoyed the outing. I'm afraid I'll have to give up any heels over about 2 inches. By the time I finished this little trip, I was limping severely. While I love the heels, my ankles don't.

Any way, except for the ankles and the early fear, things went very well. If I get the chance to get out in public again, I will. However, I'll have to wear flats or very short heels, so as to enjoy it more.

Love,

Alana

Alana,
=D> *-* hon I am proud of you, I still remember my first outing to an upscale restaurant with the wife. It took my heart two days to come down from 7th heaven.
Even as old as Carol is, I believe just be yourself and act like a lady and nobody will say a word. (--)

Alana

Congrats on the outing. I had my first real outing last Wednesday with Joanne Mason, we had a ball, I am lucky though I was walking around for 8 hours in 3" heels and they didn't bother me a bit.

It's fun though isn't it.

Best wishes
Susan

Susan, from your comments you were on such a high that you were floating. I don't think you could have fallen even if you had tripped. I am glad you had such a great time.

Alana, That first ime out is so great and the next time will be even better. It is so much fun even if you are scared to death.

Way to go! :)

It does get easier. The next time you will be able to relax more.

First, congratulations on surviving Denny's - you actually got out of there without having your stomach pumped???? [-X Yes, I have had some very bad experiences with Denny's!!!

Second, if you look half as good as your avatar, you could pass anywhere.

Third, next time you are in Denver, try "Tracks." It is a "cosmopolitan" bar and dance, recommended by one of our members (who has not posted for a while - where are you dear!?)

It does get easier, but the thrill never seems to go away.

Just doin' our thing!!!!

Glad you had fun. Virginia is right, if you look like your avatar you shouldn't have much trouble passing.
