Well ladies I just wanted to share with all of you the enjoyment I had this past Saturday night. Our monthly meeting was postponed so a few of us decided to go out to dinner instead. After work I came home and cleaned up and then got dressed. I wore my knee length black skirt, long sleeve knit pull over red blouse, my red 3" heels, one of my wigs, jewelry and the basics underpinnings. Did my make-up and put on my false nails, looked pretty good I thought to myself but the real proof would come later that night.
I drove to the parking lot were we agrreed to meet and waited for the others to come. After about 10 minutes one of the girls arrived and we greeted each other with a hug and kiss. It was a cold night for here in Fla. but the feeling of the cold on my legs was exhilerating and I just enjoyed it. After waiting a little while, to see if anyone else would show up, we walked the one block to the restaurant passing people along the way without getting a second glance or stare from them. Guess they just saw two women going to dinner and nothing more.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess with " Good evening ladies ", so I guess we passed the test. As we were being shown to our table the other people in the room must have thought that we were just two women coming for dinner because they never even looked up at us.
After dinner we took a walk along the street looking into the store windows, it was such a wonderful feeling walking in my heels and being looked upon as just another woman out on the town. After we had walked about a half hour we decided to stop in a coffee shop for coffee to warm up a bit, cause it had gotten colder since we first arrive at the restaurant. Once again we were greeted with, " What would you ladies like to have ". We ordered coffee, talked a bit more and warmed up for another stroll down the street. Again passing people as we walked with a smile or a nod of " Hello " and getting the same reaction in return.
The whole experience of the night only went to confirm my belief that I have had for some time , that being that I would rather be a woman then the man that Nature made me. It was a wonderful night for me to be able to be the woman I feel I should be and being accepted as such with the people I encountered that night.

Hi Charlee,
Well did you "pass?" You will never know will you? Then again, what is "passing?" It was as you said, just two girls sharing an evening together, so basically what you were saying subconsciously was this is who we are, deal with it and those that met you either saw two girls out for an evening or two guys in dresses but did not care either way, nor should you.
The eyes of everyone that saw you, saw the reality of two ladies and the brains of those that saw you registered "two ladies." You were both dressed appropriately and acted accordingly so the brain registered what the eye saw. No harm no foul!
Go forth woman and BE!!!!!!!

That's a nice post, Charlee. An evening like that is such a pleasant thing to experience, and I find that it continues to be. It's a very steady and consistent thing in my life.

What I have concluded is that you and me and Virginia and a couple of million? others can go out and be who we are, and our manner is such that others are going to let us do it, for whatever reason. It's an attitude, a confidence, and a just plain look of 'belonging' where we are.
So I'm glad to read about you having one of those nights.

That's a good way of summing it up. I won't pretend that people are ever going to stop being concerned about what they see as "gender tampering"--it's hard-wired in us to pay great attention to gender.those that met you either saw two girls out for an evening or two guys in dresses but did not care either way, nor should you.

Way to go CharLee way to go, I have found out in years of going out people just don't care. All they seen was two ladies going to dinner.
As far as passing goes all GG are not beauty queens so a lot of us fit in real well.
Look at Carol if I can get by anyone can, just be yourself and all will work out fine.
