April vacation

Time for another "crossdressers special" vacation. My wife and daughter are off to visit MIL for a week down south.
First things first. They left, I went to a morning meeting at the beach and visited some friends. I got home around 10:30 a.m. feeling grounded and cleaned the house a bit. It was chilly so I needed something warmer to wear. I didn't feel like getting dressed yet but put on a cami under my teeshirt. Then began the process of taking my clothes out of the storage box and putting them in my bureau. A kind of fun thing to do at times like this. I reached the conclusion that I really have too much lingerie. It took two drawers while my guy underwear takes half a drawer. Put on a nice skirt, top, and bra as it had warmed up, and came here. I'll finish unpacking later.
Work is semi slow so I'll have a lot of free time. Rehearsals and gigs will take up many evenings. I'll probably go to a couple of extra meetings, I usually do to avoid isolation. And I'll be doing lots of yard work. Which means I'll be wearing my camping skirts and tops. I never set out to see just how dirty I can get them, but the creek that drains the back is clogged up and needs to be cleared...... Hopefully no shopping sprees, I have enough clothes already.
Today however will mostly be spent cleaning, which I always do the first day everyone leaves. Not that the house is dirty. I just like order.......Also I have a concert to play today, so I get to wear concert drag (what I call my male costume. It is so not me)
The first time I did this I thought my whole thread was pretty interesting. And each successive time they got more mundane. But I'll try not to be boring.....

Well the concert went well.
Highlight of the day in terms of CDing was that I got home about 9 and it was dark. A neighbor had given me some flowers to plant yesterday. So I put on a casual black skirt and top and went out and planted all of them. What else would you wear to plant things by the dark of the moon? It was a gorgeous evening with a light breeze which felt very nice through the skirt on my legs. Later I put on a form fitting sweater as it had gotten colder out and went for a walk around the block. All very still and silent, with most folks probably sound asleep by the looks of things. Still a gorgeous evening.

A quiet but somewhat busy day. I spent a fair amount of time putting things away, putting them in order. I remembered how I started my "girl autobiography story during a similar vacation some 5 years ago.
One of the characters in that is very orderly with a right way to do everything, although it's not something I dwelt on in the story. Just a part of her backstory. I thought about that today as I was straightening the house, something I do whenever my family goes away.
Tired tonight. I was going to go for another late night walk but I don't have the energy. I'm wearing a long white opaque white nightgown which would look ghostly in the night although it's really still too cold to wear it without something over it.
Oh well.

Much of the day was devoted to work and the rest to weeding and yard work. Weeding is one of my favorite things to do in a skirt. Chopping wood on the other hand, although I enjoy it, can be tiresome with the inserts moving around in my bra........Also had a nice rehearsal, in total drab of course.
Went for a walk around midnight. I wore a pair of black leggings that I use as long johns in the winter and a fairly short dress with a form fitting sweater. Looking at my silhouette in the streetlight I was struck by what a nice shadow I cast. Also how I looked like some poor girl out on the stroll in the winter, which was not what I was trying for. But only in silhouette.
It's a tad chilly tonight, and they are talking about frost. The smell of the cold mixed with the spring flowers which are everywhere right now is something you don't get to experience all that often, and it was truly wonderful. It was a glorious perambulation, and if I can't sleep tonight I may repeat it.
Sleep tight ladies. And gentlemen.

A day of work and rehearsal. I've been going for my daytime walk en femme except for pants, and no one notices. I mean really no one notices, I wouldn't even notice. But that's my wardrobe and small forms. Tonight I watched Cadilac Records and wore a lacy black nightgown and robe. It seemed appropriate to the movie. Beyonce was quite appealing as Etta James. Watching her and Little Walters self destructiveness left me with the feeling of inevitability you get watching a Greek tragedy. Don't know how scrupulously accurate the movie is-I do know that Leonard Chess didn't really pay folks, just gave them money when they wanted it. He and Etta James were apparently not lovers in spite of the movie. I loved their take on Chuck Berry. It gets forgotten that he didn't record for a long time due to incarceration.
After that I went for my evening walk, same leggings and a sweater with a knee length skirt. Still a nice silhouette. On my walk I saw a bunch of firewood on non private property so I went back in the car and loaded up. Kind of funny, some lady in a skirt hauling logs out of the woods at midnight.

Glyn I take it that you're a logger? Cool. My grandfather was a lumberjack and then for many years a scaler.
I did real work today, so yardwork had to wait. I wound up pulling weed about 10 p.m which was kind of fun.
No walk tonight as my knee feels off. A big disappointment but prudence is a virtue.........It's a bit cold so I'm wearing my fake fur vest with my long skirt.

I was not a logger, but I knew several. I did wood heat my home for many years. The small trees in Northern BC are bigger than most others big trees. Bringing down a 150ft tree with a 24 to 30 inch stump can be both a scare and a thrill at the same time. Monty Python's song was always good for a laugh, for me an inside joke. Amazing how a song could be someone else set on edge. Maybe there were alot more"lumberjacks" than I realized. Now for some buttered scones for tea!

Last night of vacation. I slept on the porch last night. Wore a very long clingy black skirt that felt a bit like a mummy bag, sweater and then my slippers and blankets. Also a bra and forms, first time I've slept in them in years. Very cozy and I loved the feel of the air, much different than just opening a window. Went inside about 4 as the porch couch has only one position that works.
I've really enjoyed getting up out of bed every morning en femme. Also just hanging around the house that way in the evening. But it would get old real fast being alone like this if I didn't know my family would be back soon.
Had a nice gig today and worked, not much else to say. No yard work today as it's raining, although that hasn't stopped me in the past. Hmm, weeding in a dress in the rain? How atmospheric.
All in all a very pleasant and peaceful week. Tomorrow morning I put my clothes away and clean the house. Right now it's very neat, but not clean.
I hope people enjoyed my thread. I'm sorry I don't have more exciting stuff to write. Somehow the excitement of weeding the garden in a dress, or of admiring my silhouette under a streetlight, is hard to put into words, but I know you all have good imaginations.

Hi Zari--
It's a very Walden-like account you've got here--Thoreau didn't have anyone coming around to his place, either. It all sounds very enjoyable, as a change of pace and some time away from familar people. I'm happy to hear that the music is still happening, too, even if it does require you to dress in male drag!

Thanks Anita. I like the analogy.
