My first time out

Well, I finally went out for the first time yesterday. I went to an outlet mall a couple towns over. Unforetunately I got there about an hour before closing. I was really nervous getting out of the car, but no one had seemed to pay me any attention on the highway up there.

My first stop was the Nine West Outlet. You gals that chat with me know that I am SOOO excited about shoes. :) I saw a couple pairs I kind of liked, but then I saw the boots. There was this cute pair of 3" knee-high boots I just HAD to try on. They fit very nicely. The best thing is, no one pointed and/or laughed at me. It was a boost to my confidence.

Next I walked over to the bali underwear shop. I picked out a couple bras to try on. None of the gals there paid me any excessive attention. The only disconcerting thing was on the way over, a guy paid too much attention to me and I don't think it was in the good way. I felt like he could tell that I was really a guy.

After the bra shopping, I wandered over to dress barn. I grabbed a couple tops and a skirt to try on. The girls lead me into a dressing room stall. I didn't really hear any giggling or felt like they KNEW. I did buy a cute blue top with some ruffles. Overall I had fun and it built my confidence.

I had an even better time on my second day out today! :) I bought a pair of knee-high boots, a pair of wedge sandals, 5 blouses, and 2 bras. I used the women's fitting rooms. I only saw two people actually give me several looks like they knew and were amused. The lady at the Nine West shoe store was very helpful. Unforetunatly, no one called me ma'am or miss or anything similar.

A nice smile, an aire of confidence can open many doors. Also, a lesson learned. GG's can sense "the look" that they sometimes get from some of the neandertrals that share this planet  . Think about how you felt and what if he did not read you, but was just oogling a pretty girl? Interesting and can I say "eye-opening." You have to ask yourself, how you felt about that. Was it a pleasant experience , did you enjoy it or did you feel threatened? A lot of gg's just ignore it, but others deal with it on a different level. Just think about how it made you feel.

Several years ago, I was standing in the aisle of a theater, dressed conservatively, knee length somewhat tight gray skirt and white blouse, heeled ankle boots holding my coat over my arm waiting for an elderly couple to "get organized" and two, well can I say underdressed "ladies" and I use the word loosely, sitting in their seats in ragged "sweat clothes" next to the aisle eyed me up and down and one said loudly enough for me to hear, "slut!" I initially took it as a compliment as I had "passed," in my mind. When I expressed my feelings on this forum, several gg's took my pert butt to the woodshed for a well deserved verbal thrasing as no nicely dressed woman would enjoy being referred to as a "slut."

It is a constant learning experience for those of us who confront the "great unwashed" as "who we are!"

Shop on ladies!
