Fun at the department store!!!

Post by Gwen_H »

Ok, a bit about myself; I've always like women's lingerie. Nylons, panties, bras etc. I guess growing up with sisters, being around them influenced me. Well it's been touch and go over the years, started out in my early teens trying on their panties and bras.

Never really was able to explore it, but over the past couple years I've been trying on my wife's stuff, then buying nylons and thigh-highs, and other lingerie to dress up in.

Well, my wife suspected, I guess she found some of her things out of place. Then she found I'd been in her make-up, which really did not sit well. She really was upset. I tried to share it with her, she wanted nothing to do with it, and forbid me from using her stuff, so fine.

Frustrated, while out shopping over the holidays, we'd pass the cosmetic department in one of the local mall department stores. It got me to thinking.

Not knowing what or how to put anything on, I became fixated on the idea of just going to the department store and talking to the cosmetic girl and ask her if she would make me up and show me how.

Had a day off during the past week, so I called ahead and explained to the girl what I wanted. She said, sure, told me to ask for her by name.

So I went, as you say in drab. Tight levi's and a dark navy long-sleeve crew neck. I got there and my heart was racing. The girl was about 25, blonde and from Eastern Europe (very attractive). After doing a loop through the store (which was busier than I expected) I stopped and introduced myself.

She asked how I wanted to look, mild, or wild. I said I wasn't sure, I want you to make me hot, sexy. She asked if I wanted just lipstick and eyeliner, or everything. Everything I said, I want to look like a woman.

She had me sit down, and of course customers were walking by. Women, men, older women, women pushing babies in strollers.

My heart raced. I had what I'd say rehearsed if someone I knew walked by (masquerade party).

And she began, first the refreshing clear stuff, then the moisturizer, then the foundation, powder, then the eye-prep, eye-liner, mascara, eyebrows, etc.

Then the blush, lipstick pencil, then the lipstick, and 40 minutes later I was done.

I got some interesting looks from some customers, most men would do a double, then head in the other direction. I didn't care!

It was exciting. One of the older sales women across the hall in lingerie definitely had an attitude, again didn't care.

I got a few things, thanked her and left. Went home put on a blonde wig, primped the hair a bit, and I looked great! The doorbell rang and it was the UPS guy, I had to sign for a package.

So I did, I didn't want to go pick it up later. Shocking!

Now I can't stop thinking about shaving my legs and getting waxed!

I looked great, I have a friend that is a girl, and sent her a few pictures, and she raved about them.

Take care, sincerely Gwen!

Yep, those cosmetic counters in the dept stores are wealth of information even if you don't get made up. I haven't come across any of the ladies with attitudes. They all seem happy that you take time with them.

I haven't been made up drab, but I have been touched up when fem. The funny thing is, the ladies are all set to strip off everything and start all over. I have to remind them that I can't usually do that because of the need for my beard cover. With that, the ladies will do pretty much anything I ask of them.

Glad you had a wonderful time. Welcome to the forum. :)

Hi Gwen,
where was it? We always like to hear about places that are particularily helpful. Maybe it's because we need so much help :?
I haven't gotten into the make-up yet, I'm just having trouble enough getting my hair to look something better than catastrophic.

Hi Gwen, -wel- to the forum.

Quite brave of you, taking that step.

I'm guessing your still married, so you might want to talk to your wife about shaving and such. Sometimes we get on the pink cloud and forget someone with a vested interested might care, even if we don't.

Donna, your right, I shaved last summer, and of course it went over like a lead ballon. Said I just wanted to trim and got carried away, which was acceptable.

I think if it was regular, it would be an issue.

Wow, Gwen....That sounds like sooo much fun! My wife usually does my make-up, and she's great at it. But I would love to do something like that! I've tried doing it myself, but it can be hit or miss. Sometimes it comes out great.....Others, I look like a rodeo clown blew-up in my face!!! LOL ..rofl..
WTG!! *-* *-* *-*

& thanks for sharing!!!

P.S. Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking? (be as vague as you want to be.) :)

That sounds like so much fun, it must have been a real high for you. I havn't yet managed this, I'm a little frightened of how much I could end up spending, but have always found the SAs in departments stores to be very helpfull, one very nice lady at a Debenhams managed to pass an entertaining half hour helping me try on lots of outrageous shoes even though we both knew I was never going to buy any of them. I suspect very often they are happy to be occupied.

Hi Gwen,
Great story, and as the others said, thanks for sharing. Donna's right about that being a brave thing to do. I have friends here in Colorado who are still extremely fearful of even picking up the phone and calling a salon. You should be very proud of your bravado, but keep in mind... once she's let out of the bottle, it's hard to put the Genie back in!

I think what Theresa was asking was the Company name, not specifically your location. For instance, their are MAC stores all over the country and I've yet to hear of one that wasn't very helpful to crossdressers. The flip side, I'm sure, is also true. Just as you noticed another associate "with attitude", there are most certainly establishments who do not and will not cater to "unique" individuals (such as ourselves).
So sharing about companies and places that are gender friendly can be helpful to the whole community.

Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing more!
Hugs,
Kyra
