My latest night out

I arrived in Manchester about 25 minutes late due to train delays at 6:25pm. I was supposed to be meeting Joanne Mason from here and some new friends in the bar of the hotel at 7pm. "Here goes another rush job" I thought.

Joanne came to the room to drop her bags off about 7:05, I was ready apart from my nail varnish being still not set, so I waited for 5 minutes then followed Joanne down. We had one drink in the bar while I was introduced to two others I had not met before. Then Joanne and I went for a meal in an Italian style restaurant called Villageo's.

We had a date at 9pm in Manchester Concord where the local Police were putting on a presentation and Joanne was one of the star exhibits. This started a bit late and I met up with half a dozen of my friends from Transpose ( http://www.transpose.tv/ ) in there and they all looked lovely. At the end of the talk two women who were trying to drum up business came over to to our little group and said "I am jealous of you - you all look better than I do and you (pointing at Kate) and you (pointing at me) look absolutely beautiful." I must tell you I loved getting a compliment like that from a good looking young woman. We chatted for a few more minutes then the others all left to go to a pub near by. I had to see Mary of Manchester Concord so I followed on a few minutes later.

It was about 11:15pm by this time as I walked along the road by myself. A young man was walking towards me on the same side and as he passed me said "You look lovely". This took me completely by surprise. "It must be true" I thought to myself. I even got a few wolf whistles from a fast food cafe's customers.

I met the others in the pub where we had a few drinks then about 00:30am the group started splitting up as some had work in the morning. We left then to go to Napoleon's night club which is a sight to behold at times. There is a dance floor that gets well used. I got a few approaches off men which I politely declined and at 4am as we were getting ready to leave a couple of drunken students latched on to us, one was incoherent but the other had definitely taken a shine to me. It was easy to dodge them as they were too drunk to pose any menace.

We got back to the hotel about 4:10am and started the ghastly routine of defemming ourselves. Got ready for bed and got a few hours sleep before going home.

Joanne took a few pictures which I am waiting to receive from her, I will post a few when I can.

All in all it was a great night. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I've had a few nights out like that, Susan. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Even though you were tired, I'll bet you didn't want it to end. (I know I don't!)
Just be careful, especially whilst walking alone.
Hugs,
Kyra

I would love that too - I have made a standing invitation to my friends from North America that I will take them for a girly night out if they come over here.

I am looking forward to it

Hi Susan--
That's a great post. It was fun to read about all of that, and I know you must have enjoyed the compliments. Time just flies until 4am when you're having an evening like that one.
