who do you try and look like?

Post by Susan »

I know we all have our ideal as regards femininity but who do you model yourself on/ try and look like?

Mine is someone I have admired for a long time. A Lancashire girl called Annie Haslam - she has the voice of an angel being 5 octaves in range and now in her mid 60's she is still drop dead gorgeous.

Take a look - I think I look a bit like her:

What do you think? What about you?

PS I know Jamie has been to see her sing in PA

I don't try to look like anyone else, although I do look like my mother did when she was younger.

There are lots of women I greatly admire, for their spirit and their accomplishments, and some for their appearance as well, but I don't try to look like anyone in particular. Nancy says my new wig makes me look like my mother. She's not exactly crazy about the idea.

I guess if I thought I REALLY looked like any woman at all, I'd be tickled pink.

But while we are off in fantasy land, wouldn't it be wonderful to look like Diana Rigg, cook like Julia Child, and write like Georgette Heyer, or, maybe Cokie Roberts. May as well drive like Danica while we're on the way! :haha:
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

A really tall librarian.

I've been described as looking like my mother, and I've taken that as one of my favorite compliments I've ever heard.

I try to look like me, as Paul I have tried to look like Gareth Chilcott with abeard, but the look didn't realy work, although my wife said I looked like a thug which was part of the idea (handy on the Rugby field). I would like to look like Sean Connery in a dinner jacket, failed there as well, in my mind a might look like Kirstie Alley or Cybill Shepherd, but would be happy to think that I actually look like any woman.

I just try to be the best looking woman I can be. There are some women I know whose style I like and I copy them.

It's not so much of who do I try to look like as who do I not try to look like. I try not to look like a dead woman or a whorish woman or a 12 year old. Have I succeeded? Yeah for the most part, but for Halloween that one time I looked like a dead whorish 12y/o.

I just try to look like the real deal but if I could look like someone it would be Sharon Stone. Sadly it will never happen.

I've never tried to look like anyone other than myself. It's challenging enough to just be me.
I've a friend who once told me I looked like Jamie Lee Curtis. I told her she needed a new pair of eyeglasses. She was serious and actually sent me a couple of photos to validate her point. I uploaded them to the gallery. I have my doubts, but then I'm very critical about my appearance.

Hugs,
Kyra

I can see that. If you use your photos 3/10 and 7/10 there is a bit more resemblance, since in the other pics you are smiling more widely than she is and your bangs are a bit more swept. It is often hard for people to see what others see in them.

Interestingly, Jaimie Lee was one of the Hollywood actresses that was widely thought to be intersexed, CAIS specifically. She had longer than average female arms and legs, and it was these propotions that lead some to think that. She waited until late to have kids, and though no one can say for sure, her having infants should have put the end to that rumor, unless they were adopted very quietly of course. She was photoed with a baby bump, but not with the weight gain of most pregnant women, so some are still saying it. They are activists that want to use her as a poster girl if they could confirm it. Personally I think it should make no difference, She is quite a nice entertainer and actress., and she should not have to become something for someone else to use.

I've heard the same thing about Jamie Lee, and I agree, it really shouldn't matter. Regardless, she's much prettier than I could ever hope to be. I joked with my friend about needing glasses, but deep down I'm really flattered. I'd never have considered a likeness to someone so beautiful.
