no pants weekend

I am happy to tell all you girls that since Wed night I have not worn pants a single time. We had a 4 day weekend here, and I decided to go do some sightseeing. I didn't even pack a pair of pants, nor any indistinguishable tops. There was not a single thing that would even close to pass (by passing I mean in this case as seeming like there is a possibility it could be a mans article of clothing). Nope, it was all skirts with nice feminine tops and dresses.
Do you know how nice it felt not having to think that there might be an occasion when I would have to pretend that I'm not a CD? The only embarrassing situation I had was when I went to a nice little bar and grill place and tried to order dinner. The waitress had to politely inform me that it would be better if I didn't try to speak Bulgarian, and just stick with English

I did get to do a little shopping, but didn't buy much. 1 skirt and top, 1 pair shoes, and a belt. I would have bought much more if I could have found what I liked that fit, but then wouldn't we all

Now I'm just out of the shower and deciding what I should wear to dinner, and where I want to go. I looked in my closet and see a 2 or 3 nice dresses I haven't worn in a while, I'm just not sure.......

Ralitsa, I'm thinking you're lieing about not wearing in pants; that is unless of course you wore pantihose all the time.

Way to go girl! Glad you had and are having a wonderful time. Ok, so you didn't find a lot to buy; sometimes the hunt is enough and you got to do it. So did you take time to try everything on? Now that can be a chore.

Again, glad you had a good time.

Well Davita, you're right, I do wear pantyhose or tights almost all the time. First of all I think my legs look nicer with tights, and also I feel a little safer that I won't flash the world if there is some mishap.
And it's true that even though I didn't buy much I had a lot of fun trying on everything in the store

Probably it's better that way because I had all the fun without the expense. And better yet, I have a reason to go shopping again.

Is crossdressing more acceptable in europe or do the same rules apply?

I guess I would say it's about the same as in the US. I've never had any problems in Europe, and never really had any problem here. One thing I will say, it seems like in the US people are more likely to question you about it, but I don't think this is a US or Europe issues as much as the native vs. foreigner situation. I find that everywhere people are more likely to be a little nicer and a little more accomodating to the foreigner. For example, yesterday I was talking to a guy here (in PA) who asked me if I was from Ireland, because I was wearing a kilt. I wasn't wearing a kilt, it was a jean skirt and with it I was wearing a plaid, obviously womens top. If I would have been from Ireland then it would have understandable, even though kilts are very rarely worn there. As it was, I just said "no I'm from Wisconsin" by way of explanation, because it's the same thing as being from a different country.

One other thing I forgot to mention about my no pants weekend, when I was at Cape Kaliakra (famous historical site in Bulgaria) amongst all the vendors selling souvenirs and stuff there was an old man, I'm pretty sure, who was wearing a skirt. He looked to be the husband of one of the women selling stuff, and was just sitting at the back of one display and I didn't get a good look so I'm not completely sure. He seemed to be looking quite close at me with more than usual interest so I'm thinking that we saw in each other a kindred spirit. It's too bad I can't speak much Bulgarian, I wonder what we might have talked about.

Hi all

I am from the Uk and do sense an atmosphere of tolerance developing. Guys at work do not bat an eyelid about gays. They also now talk, tease & joke about crossdressing activity without malice.

Crossdressing activity is close to the favourite subject of conversation. I join in on the converation but have not come out though. It is strange when they say they have not known a CD at work when I am in lingerie all the time i chat with them.

I am out and about (rather than OUT) quite a lot and have generally only had good experiences. Initially I though it might just be in the more fashionable areas of large towns but I have had no problems at all anywhere other than the odd inappropriate remark from adolescent young men. Cross dressing is becoming an acceptable topic for conversation and is generally OK for other people, I think some of my friends would be stunned, and struggle to accept the fact of knowing that I am CD.

I have written elsewhere (on my blog and on this forum) quite extensively about a trip I had to France earlier this year, there too I found everyone to be friendly and accepting.
