Girl time with my Grand daughter...

Today was the first day of my vacation and I wanted to do something special. Our two grandchildren (him, 12 yrs old and her, 10 yrs old)have been here for about two weeks as I posted earlier. I have been doing some skateboarding with my grandson here and there, and wanted some “Papa and granddaughter time” for just the two of us.
So I called the local cosmetology school to make appointments for the two of us to go and get manicures. I had never had one but she has had mani’s and pedi’s before. She was all excited that she and Papa were going to get our nails done, and to be honest, so was Papa.
So we all got up and went to breakfast and then to the Wonderful World of Wally and then it was off to the salon. I went in drab except for some lace red cheeky panties, a feather ear ring, some femme no show ankle socks and some light make-up, which I have taken to wearing every day, even to work in the machine shop where I work. I have heard you girls talk of how nobody sees or doesn’t care if they do and have become convinced that you all are right. (Mother knows best...Thanks Moms. LOL)The girls at the salon were great and took me in as one of their own. They made me feel so welcome and were treating me as if I was just another one of the girls. We laughed and chit chatted and had the best time.
It was so worth it to do that with my G-Daughter. She had a ball. The guys in the shop where I work think I’m nuts anyway so this was just one more thing to talk about. (What fun it is with them when they think I care.) I encourage all of the girls here who haven’t had a manicure to do it and bathe yourselves in your girlieness. You’ll have a ball. When we were leaving, the girls all came over and said to come back again and to not let my hands and nails get so bad next time. I told them that I definitely would be back and said bye for now.
It was $5.00 for the mani and $3.00 for her toes to get polished and $6.00 each for a tip. $25.00 total and a great memory for both of us. It may well be the best $25.00 I ever spent. TTFN. Hugs to all.
