A day at the mall
Yesterday I got fully dressed in a blouse, slacks, and flats. I was wearing a wig and was carrying a purse on my shoulder. I made sure that I had a very close shave. The only thing missing was makeup. I went to a mall and walked around for about an hour. I was very tempted to go to the major department store and go to the makeup counter, but I chickened out. I ended up eating lunch at one of the restaurants. After lunch I applied some lipstick while sitting at the table.
I know I stand out because of my height, if nothing else, but life is short and I love dressing.

Standing because your tall is just fine. I never worry about how tall I am. I even hang out with short people, but then I tend to put flats on for them so they don't have to crane their necks.
Next time you go out without makeup, you most certainly must visit the cosmetic counters. The ladies will take good care of you and starting with a clean slate just helps them.

How much does one of these make-up applications cost?

Hi Mersades,
Glad you had a chance to get out. The next time you have to get your make up done. It is a fun experience. I have done it several times at different counters so I could decide on a brand I liked. I have not found an associate at a make up counter yet that die not treat me as a woman. They will gladly show you how to apply your make up. All they ask is that you buy some of there product. I have developed a relationship with on of the girls and when they get new items in she will try them on me without expecting me to buy every time, Mac is good but kind of thick and fairly expensive. I personally have taken a liking to Bare Minerals. Don't let your height bother you too much, I am 6' 3" in stocking feet, and I seldom wear flats (There are plenty of tall GG's out there). Its all about confidence and presentation. If act with confidence most people are willing to believe what they see. When people remark about how twll I am I tell them the truth. I had an uncle that was 6' 11" and my cousins are 6 4, Dad was 6 4 and mom is 5 10. They usually laugh and say Oh your the short one.
Enjoy who you are And do visit the make up counter next time, You won't be sorry.

I always like this kind of thing. Good for you on doing it
doesn't it feel good?
I have to agree. You HAVE to visit the counter Mersades
When I first did that, the SA was fantastic and let me try the perfumes. Although There was some "schoolgirl giggling" going on on both sides to start, wow it was sooo much fun, and I was treated as a.. Girl
I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and I ended up going back and buying some stuff haha. For me it was amazingly validating. It mightn't be as long as you think before you're out there doing the same

So, they don't charge you to put the makeup on?
When you are getting the makeup put on do people watch?
Has anyone ever done this in male mode?

yeppers, it's free. The only people that tend to watch are wanting to learn the same things you are or it's other cosmetic girls.
Do it male mode? not me. My fur face would get in the way. Now that doesn't mean I don't shop the counters in male mode, because I do. A bunch of the girls used to know me as I was there frequently -- not so much now. I use dermablend and the ladies at those counters have never given me anything but the best of help with my decisions. We try the shades etc. It's no big deal.
On the same vane of shopping drab, my office spouse and I were exercising our DSW coupons Thursday. We went at lunch time so I was drab. That didn't stop me for trying on shoes with my bud for her opinion. We were also in a busy store doing it. All the ladies around us just ignored us and carried on with their own hunting.

Re: A day at the mall
Hi
I dress and go to the malls often. I am 6'3 and dress to blend in.
I have gone to the makeup counters often even when I am in drab.
Clinique or any of the woman are only to happy to help
Ask for a foundation that will match your skin. a great opener
Be prepared to spend a few bucks but you will go home with
quality products,, Good luck

What do you wear to blend in? I assume at 6' 3" you don't wear 4" heels.

Re: A day at the mall
When I go shopping at a mall and I want to blend in (as much as I can) I always wear something casual, either a casual skirt or slacks and flats and minimal make up.

Re: A day at the mall
to blend in I sure dont wear heels. Usually flats
and then would just appear to be a tall woman
When they do your makeup you will be sitting so
no one will notice your height.
