Getting out

Hi girls, up here in the great white north since mid Sept I have been getting dressed up in office type attire complete with my winter coat or jacket (temperature depending) and full makeup and walking down to the neighborhood mail box about 3 to 4 times a week around 5 pm and picking up my mail. I have been dressing my age, skirts at knee level with 2-3" heels or mid calve boots. I have met couple of people and just waved or smiled when they have greeted me. I even did it last Sat at 11 am.
WOW. I havn't had any problems, but I doubt if I have been made as I have really been careful of my walking and body language and on the colder days putting on a scarf with matching mittens.

Fantastic! I am so happy for you. It is fun to get out and do things, even if it is just getting the mail.

Hi Mary Ellen. I'm so jealous, about being in Calgary I mean
I'm hoping to find a new job up that direction. I hear there is a lot of oil and gas work happening.

Say "hi" to the town I grew up in for me, Mary Ellen. I don't get back to Calgary all that often but when I do I've been pleasantly surprised that people there were quite accepting despite the conservative reputation. I returned a few times en femme before I had officially transitioned and changed my identification. I had no issues with car rental, shopping, or even visiting a bank to close out an old account.

I even returned in the fall of 2011 for my 25th high school reunion and found my former classmates to be overwhelmingly supportive. I'd been living as a woman full time for almost two years at that point, but it was still news to most of them.

That is so great Kimberly. I am glad your old classmates were OK with it. I know that if I ever went that route it would probably be split with the feelings. I do know how a good friend of mine I work with now would feel as he made a comment about a past coworker of mine, one he thinks once was a man. The comment was not very nice. I almost wanted to throttle him. It was at a time I was starting to cross dress.

Well, I am happy for you. Hope things will continue working well with you.
