New Year's Eve

Hope the holidays are going well for everyone!!!
For the firs time, I have a date on New Year's Eve, and I'm excited as well as a little bit nervous, but I've plunged full-speed ahead into looking my best and enjoying the night and morning to follow.
Do any of the other ladies out there have plans to doll up for the last night of 2012, either at a party with other girls or on an evening out with an admirer?; it, to me is one of the ultimate nights to express our elegant femininity.
Peace, love and Happy 2013!!!
XO
Susan

We'll doubtless have a fairly quiet New Year's celebration at home – but I'm sure I'll have trouble resisting the temptation to dress up for the evening. I have some new jewelry to try on and a wardrobe full of garments that I adore to match. I have one dress in particular that I adore that is somewhat tattered from scurrying around downtown LA and dancing up a storm in heels that snagged at the hem a few years back. It might be appropriate to wear it one last time before I retire it for good.
The romantic element will doubtless be seriously subdued by sharing the evening with my wife's mother.

Its going to be a quiet one here, bank account still reeling from xmas and all that gah.
If im honest though, i still wouldnt be going anywhere even if i was a millionare. Nope, a couple of drinks here at home with my family. Ill be watching the TV recount the events of the year and then secretly plot the changing out of the old for the new in the coming year. More of a thinking event for me than a partying one im afraid. I dont normally do resolutions, but this year i got three. Go legit with HRT, avoid the insulin (both of these are gonna be tough) and then the easier of the three...quit smoking lol
Big changes afoot here

Going legit with HRT is a good thing. Properly monitored it is about as safe as any meds can be.
As far as the diabetes, you may find yourself fighting hard for that one. I was in a prediabetic diagnosis until starting HRT, and 6 months later I was fully diabetic. It has happened to other people I know first hand, so there may be a link. Monitor carefully, and get lots of excercise. Just 10 minutes can drop your glucose by 30-40 points, and that's just walking. Besides, you need the cardio aspects to keep your heart and circulatory system working well. Last thing you need is a stroke, and the excercise can help prevent blood clots if you are prone to them while on HRT. In spite of the excercise, diabetes is a progressive disease, and your genetic heritage may make it progress faster or slower, but the exercise and proper diet will help no matter what.
Carry on!

Nothing planned. My wife is in Texas with her parents. So I doubt if I even open a bottle of wine.
Besides, my ankle still hasn't healed from the surgery.

I was at a son's house and dressed as much as the weather would allow as I had to go out into the cold to get where I was staying.

New Years was stressing for me. Early Monday morning I came out to get my car to go to work and the car would not start. It seems a cell in the battery died while I was on vacation. I get it towed to the dealership, wait on it, and make it to work about 11 AM, only to find out that the office will close at 3PM. LOL. Anyway at 3PM I go to drive home and the car is dead again. I get it towed to the dealership again and two hours find out that the tech that put the new battery in forgot to tighten one of the battery cables. LOL So by the time I finally make it back to the apartment, I am in no mood to spend an 1-2 hrs getting ready and fighting more traffic to get to Freddies. So I put my PJ's on, My warm full length robe, and settled down on the couch with a glass of Egg Nog and Crown Royal.
Hugs,
JoAnn
