A Bold Step into the Light

Buoyed with confidence after my shopping trip with Amy, my GG friend, I knew I had to take a big step on Sunday as it may be the last time I have to dress until next weekend. 
I put on the same maxi dress and wedgies I wore to have drinks with her, grabbed my purse and leather jacket and off I went. As I have said before I get a coffee at the same Starbucks almost every day so I figured why not. I picked up a Sunday paper on the way and headed to Starbucks. Usually I go through the drive thru and head back to my condo to read the paper but today was to be different. I parked my car right in front of the door and got out as graceful as I could in the long dress and in I went.
It was early, barely 7:30 and the place was slow so I walked up to the counter and ordered my coffee. After I paid for it and was waiting for it the girl at the register smiled and told me "What a cute dress, where'd you get it at?." I thanked her and told her Kohl's. She said she usually didn't shop there but she was going to check it out as she loved maxis. I told her I did too. By then my coffee was ready so I took it, sat down, and proceeded to peruse the ads in the paper. I did notice the few people inside and those that came and went as I sat there having my coffee never really gave me a second look.
Not sure if they knew or not but know the girls at the counter did if by nothing other than my car.
God how I love being out, my only regret is I waited so long to get there!
