Shopping in Williamsburg, VA 2014

Post by S. Lisa Smith »

I took off from work on Friday, November 14, and went to the Williamsburg, VA Prime Outlets. My plan was to go to Soma for a bra fitting and then next door to Chicos. I had called the Soma and they were very nice and inviting. I got there the next afternoon. I happened to be greeted by the manager and she agreed to do my fitting. She couldn't have been more inviting and gracious. She measured me and asked what I wanted my bra to do. I told her that I wanted more cleavage than I was getting with my current bras. I must have tried on six or seven bras that she brought me. She was so helpful!!! I felt like I was the most important woman in the store. She was great!! I asked her if she knew anyone next door at Chicos who would enjoy helping me. She did and she introduced me to the manger who took me under her wing. She picked out about 5 or 6 outfits and started a room for me. While I was trying the first batch on she was called away to do an interview and transferred me to a woman who was either an assistant manager or also a manager. She was even nicer than the first woman! Not only that, her taste and my taste were exactly the same. She picked out the two outfits that I ultimately purchased a black and white houndstooth overshirt and red top and the white overshirt and grey vest pictured below.

The first woman had picked out a blue top that was gorgeous, but I ended up not buying it because it put me over my spending limit. I had taken two selfies wearing the top, just to see how it looked.

After I got home, I looked at the pictures and decided I had made a mistake...

I went back the next Tuesday and got the top. I had to drive 2 hours round trip, but it was worth it! I went in drab and the manager who helped me in Chico's didn't recognize me at all. She helped me find the top, talked to me while she was ringing me up and didn't suspect a thing. I had to tell her that I was Lisa. You ahould have seen her face!!!! it was worth the drive just for that. I also went into Soma and the manager recognized me but it took her a short while. Very validating!!!! Here is the top at home...
