sweater dress in cold weather

it started out this morning at about 20 below, but warmed up to a nice -2 by afternoon. I just got home from work and put on my favorite wool sweater dress. There is nothing quite so pleasant as sitting by a warm fire in a cozy sweater dress with a glass of wine and a good book while the blizzard is raging outside. OK, there isn't actually a blizzard, and I don't have a fire place, but otherwise it's nice.

But do you have the wine?

I agree Ralitsa, sweater dresses are so nice in cold weather. I have a brand new one that I was wearing a couple nights ago paired with warm plush tights!

Sweater dress, warm tights, some nice boots and you are ready for the office Christmas party!

I might get a sweater dress if I can find the right fit and flare, otherwise *sigh* my tummy doesn't make for a good look. If I find a sweater dress, it can't be over 50% acrylic or I will just sweat to death. Soooo I would love a sweater dress and love the look, but it has to be comfy as always and has to look decent. Not everyone can pull them off and I don't want to be that fail. :) meow

Yes, I love that look! In fact, sweater dresses are about the only type of dress that works on me, because they tend to have a less-defined waistline. I find that the waist on most dresses is above my natural waistline, making for a poor fit.

I once saw a beautiful young lady in a tight gray sweater dress with gray tights. Ever since I wanted to copy that so much.

I love sweater dresses, I have 3 of them, and hope they never go out of style. They are so versatile and comfy.

I do not think a sweater dress would suit me in our current 40c plus temperatures in Australia at this time.

ah Requal, sounds like you need a light sundress in that weather!!!

The last time I was in JC Penny there was a beautiful red Liz Claiborne sweater dress on clearance for $15. It was the only one, and it was my size - I couldn't believe my luck. I'm wearing it now :)

Sounds cute Ralista and the fact it was on clearance only makes it sweeter. Now how did I miss that one?

Agreed, Heather... I have two of them and love them both. They seem to be very "in" right now - perfect for the cooler months.

I love the look of a sweater dress and have tried one on. But they are too form fitting for my current body shape. But a gal can dream right.
