Childhood revisited--just for fun

Post by Debbie Jean »

The following paragraph is a cut-and-paste from my autobiography:

I remember when we lived by the Lake, I was 5 and Kath was 3 or 4. We kids apparently balked at eating warmed up left-overs. So when one or the other of us would ask what’s for dinner, Mom would say that Dad would be making his special recipe, “Beef Ocrazzini under glass”. We kids were instructed to stay out of the kitchen while Dad was working, because Mom told us that the recipe took deep concentration and very delicate preparation in order that it would turn out “just right”. Keep out, master chef at work here. LOL. They would put an inverted Pyrex (clear glass) bread or meatloaf pan over the warmed up leftovers (usually meat + mashed potatoes + veggies, all thrown together). They would serve it that way (dare I say “present” it that way?). Boy, did Kath and I think that was a special treat! Oh yummy, yummy, Daddy can we please have more? Writing about it now, it is really hysterical.

When I shared that part of my childhood with my wife, she suggested we have a "re-enactment". So what is "en femme" about that? Fair question. When she set out my chef's apron, she also set out some of my sexiest lingerie to wear underneath the apron, of course finished off with 4-inch patent leather stilettos. We both needed a couple glasses of wine before we could stop laughing and actually stomach the Beef Ocrazzini Under Glass that I had made.
So very funny, some of the stuff we do in the privacy of our own homes. Hopefully she won't suggest we do it the next time we have guests over.

hugs,
Deb

What a beautiful Chef you would have made that evening Deb. I hope that there are adventures with your wife more to come.
