You have to see it Martha! I went last summer for the first time and hadn't a clue what to expect, needless to say I was shocked!
As to what to wear, how do I politely say your kinkiest outfit? I was told they girls that go dress a bit over the top and in spite of it being July I wore my black leather skirt, a red blouse, and my gray over the knee suede boots, definitely not a summer outfit! I was shocked to find that next o many of them I looked like I was going to a bible study class! Wear what ever you feel and enjoy but be prepared to go at least one more time to see the whole movie. I probably spent half my time or more that first time watching the audience.

Yes I have.
I bought the official Frank N Furter costume online. Had to have the wife make some adjustments with the straps and had to wear flesh colored panties under it but it went well.
I wore a black nightie over it on the way too and way home from the theater.
Put a pic in the gallery.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult classic IMHO and definitely a favorite in the TG community! To me it ranks right up there with the Bird Cage and both should be seen by all girls.
As for what to wear Heather hit the nail on the head when she said wear your kinkiest outfit and you will probably still look like a Sunday School teacher next too the "regulars." Where what you are comfortable in and enjoy the movie.

I have been to many showings and always go in costume. You pick a character from the film and go in that outfit. You can go online to find character names and pics of their wardrobe. I have done Frank in the sexy lingerie and in a lab dress that was made by my wife. My wife would go as Magenta in the French maid outfit. You should also go on line and try to get some of the shout outs and props that you could bring. Most showings sell a set of props that you will need, it would be good to have an idea of how they are used. You will be called a virgin since it is your first time. I know you will have a great time.

I haven't but my wife did a few years go she said she went dressed in the maids outfit and had a blast! she even mentioned that if there's a showing in St Louis that we should go and I would, of course, be dressed femme. She said it was made even more enjoyable by the number of non tobacco filled cigarettes doing the rounds of the audience.
Go see it you'll have a blast as well.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a must see for anyone in the TG community. I think I have seen it at least a dozen times and it has been too long, have to see when it is showing near me soon. Several years ago I noticed it was showing, I was always go as Frank, and mentioned it to my partner. Amanda had never seen it and I told her she had to go. Reluctantly she agreed and when I showed what I was going to wear she was shocked as we are both somewhat conservative dressers. I did talk her into at least wearing her leather skirt and boots. As many here have said she was shocked and I think she spent as much or more watching the audience than the movie.
She said she enjoyed it and not much more was said. It was maybe a year or so she saw it was being showed and said she would love to go again. Needless we went, both as Frank.

It's a science fiction movie!
I went, underdressed, as the narrator, wearing a suit and stilettos.

I realized there may be a confusion about Rocky Horror.
The Rocky Horror Show is a live theatre production, which I attended dressed as the moderator. It was a great evening. It was fun interacting with the cast during the performance. Only play I've ever attended when yelling out "boring" is acceptable! Very funny to see the stiff necked theatre crowd react to those of us dressed the part.
The Rocky Horror Pucture Show is the movie. I've seen it many times, always suitably dressed but never in a theatre.
How many of you have seen it live?

You're right, Genevieve. I was thinking only of the movie when we saw it back in the 70's. Never saw it live.
Still, I refuse to jump to the left. A little political humor there.

4 of us went to the Theatre Royal in Bath UK to see the show 10 years ago. Dressed in maid's outfit, corset and me in ordinary dress. A great reaction as we squeezed past everyone to our seats, and lots of good comments from women as we had our icecreams in the interval, photos demanded.. then off for a pizza before returning to our holiday home.

The movie is all I have seen, at home. My wife however has seen it in the movie theater. before we where married. It is a great movie. Haven't heard of it being shown around here. but would like to go dressed.
The original is the best. the "live" TV presentation was a terrible adaptation of it.
