Less than 4 weeks

Post by Diana Michelle »

Halloween is less than 4 weeks away now and it got me to thinking about costumes as there is a fundraiser costume dinner/dance the Saturday night before. I have run the gamut on costumes over the past 35 years and have a few ideas for this year but what about all of the rest of you? Yes I will admit to doing the same type of costume a couple of times, remember 1st husband was a surgeon so the nurse costume was big to him, but I try to do something new or at least something I haven't done recently every year.

Do you go full out with a costume for Halloween or is your costume just going out en femme? How far do you go with your costume? Are you one who recycles costumes going as the same thing every year or every other year or is all new every year?

In the olden days it was just about being able to dress femme and go out and about. We always do costumes at work for Halloween. 2 years ago I was a stewardess and last year I went as a pirate, RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. This year the BF is telling me I need to get a Wonder Woman costume, not the most recent style but the old Linda Carter one. Not sure how appropriate that is for work so it may be two different costumes this year, one for work and one for play.

I have a Victorian outfit i have worn a few time. Would love to wear it again. Wife is not much for Halloween outings. But I think it is a lot of fun. Time is ticking to get an outfit and to find a place to go to.

As it has been for many early on going on Halloween was a change to be out en fem. However over the past few years I have tried to be different things
for halloween. Last year I was a lady pirate. in the past I have been a lady of the evening, and french maid, something that had a profound effect on me, but, that is another story.

I do try to not wear the same costume, at least not close together.

I think the last time I dressed up in the early 2,000's at work I felt silly as an adult. Guess I am just not into dressing up. Seems immature to do so. I am no longer a child. Now I know the English do these parties even here in the states. But I am just not into playing dress up.

I haven't done a costume in years dating back to my days of trick or treating as a kid but this year I am. My BF and I are taking his 4 year old daughter out trick or treating so I figured why not? Nothing elaborate, just a cheap witch's costume from Target but it s a start!

Hallowe'en was a time of year I used to love. Not so much anymore over the years, but it remains to be my partner's favourite time of the year.

And she goes all out! especially when it comes to costumes. All hand made by her. All extremely intricate and detailed, and not just one but two (for her and I) as we always do a couples theme.

This year is a bit different and I feel my interest in Hallowe'en is back! This year, I am going as a witch! It was something I always secretly wanted to dress up as. This year, I get to do it. Costume is already made, accessories chosen and makeup already practiced. Its going to be fun and I can't wait!

I will be attending an "adult" costume party in my neighborhood this year. Since my sister works for Victoria's Secret, she will supply me with any clothing I want. With that in mind, I have decided to go as a lingerie model this year. I can hardly wait, the excitement is building even as I write this.

XOXO,
