Swimsuits

One of the things I longed to be able to wear since childhood was a swimsuit. I finally bought one about two years ago. That was after much wavering. What's the point, I often thought, it's not as if I'll ever go swimming in it. Well, I finally reasoned that I could certainly wear one at home in hot weather and in July 2016 I bought one online, a green and white floral halter neck costume. There's a picture of it in my album.
May, June and July were all unusually warm in the UK this year, so much so that in May alone I think I wore that swimsuit more times than in all of 2017! This brought a new problem; what to do in very warm weather when my swimsuit is in the wash? Of course, the simple answer was get a second one. I've moved on a lot since 2016, now being fully out of the closet and living as a woman full-time, so I bought that one in a shop. One advantage there is the chance of getting an end-of-line costume at a reduced price.
A friend of mine who will complete her transition later this month encouraged me to get down to a beach and wear it there, and yesterday, although the weather has taken a turn for the worse, I had the opportunity. I didn't stay long as there was no chance of getting a tan, I just took a couple of photos before putting my dress back on and leaving, but I didn't feel self-conscious and I will certainly be back there if next summer gives me the chance.

Hi all...I just bought a "old lady" style one piece last week, along with a floppy brim hat. I spent all last week sitting by my pool enjoying my new purchases.....great feeling and so relaxing

Congratulations Penelope. I had a swimsuit and wore it in my pool at home late at night. I don't have it any more and will be buying a new one when summer returns to Oz in a couple months.
