I was visiting my best friend & his wife yesterday when his mother-in-law arrived with her boyfriend & 13 y.o. nephew. Since my friend and I grew up together, I was always considered part of the family. I am the godfather to his 8 y.o. daughter, and all 3 of his kids refer to me Uncle Rick.

Whenever the kids are out of the room Frank's wife Jen will ask me to pull up the latest Lorna pics on the computer - they're both fully accepting of Lorna, and always enjoy seeing pics of my latest adventures out! Then Jen wanted me to show the pics to her mother & boyfriend - I was initially nervous because they're both very religious & all, but both were very intrigued! 8)

So then it came to pass that we all wound up making arrangements to go to the city this Friday for dinner & drinks! Me, Frank, his wife Jen, her mother Dawn & boyfriend. Frank's wife Jen told her mother & boyfriend of Lucky Cheng's - a drag-themed bar/restaurant in Manhattan. It's largely a tourist spot but everyone is definitely intrigued on going!

Since I have known these folks for years it will sort of feel like a family outing. Inagine that - Lorna taking old family friends to the city for dinner, drinks & drag... LOL!!!

The 13 y.o. nephew has also seen Lorna pics & think it's cool (he recently colored a green streak into his hair, LOL). But as for the little ones, they'll have to wait a few years...

Friday ought to be really interesting... conservative religious people suddenly wanting to go to a drag bar... LOL!!! rotf

Hi Lorna,

I am so pleased for you, that sounds really nice. I think these people must really be able to see the real person that you are. Show them what you show us and it will be a great night.

Be yourself, smile and enjoy yourself =D>

Love

Maybe the future for us all is going to be fine afterall :)

Lorna,

That sounds so cool. I am so happy for you, but I do sense your nervousness. You are such a beautiful person, I know this will go well. Good luck. I can't wait to hear how it goes.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hey, thanks girls!!

Now the more I think about it, the more fun it sounds!!! to think that 5 years earlier, my best friend's mother-in-law was preaching at me. Today she is intrigued by the entire GLBT lifestyle - she asks questions whenever I see her, and now wants to go to a drag bar! Too awesome!! 8) 8) 8)
