First Meeting

WEll I went to my first Blue Ridge Society/SBS Social, Saturday night.
Where to start, from the beginning? OK thanks: I finished my workout about 1:00 (the meeting was set for 4:00pm at local hotel). I immediately began multi-tasking! whiteing teeth and toenail polish both about five minutes. I wanted to put off shaving as long as possible, then "Panic City" my son gets home early from work- has questions, hide toenails, son's friends arrive, I am still trying to get ready, all of a sudden its like 2:30. Kids all over the house me trapped in my bedroom with my make-up, shoes, clothing, etc in another bedroom down the hall. Now its 3:00 and they begin to leave. Hurry, can't get ready in less than an hour, forget acrylic nails, just paint nails, shave, carefully! OK now moisturer and then make-up and finally, panties, hose and bra, got to be conserative. Sophie, I ended up wearing my mid-calf red silk skirt, red slip and a tan silk pull-over with bell cuffs. (Saw that color combination in Glamour- actually looks pretty good) Tan 3" open heel/toe sandals, brunette hair, lip liner, lipstick. Grab my purse and out the door. Unbelieveable, must have driven by every one of my neighbors, either out jogging, cutting grass, walking, what ever - just deal with it!! I looked nice.
Arrived at about 4:30pm found the room, knocked and remember our concern about how we would react to male voices? The "president of the Blue Ridge Society greeted me - "You must be, Deborah?" (now Virginia) but that - never mind! anyway there were seven ladies there and I was introduced to each one, all were dressed feminine from jeans to pant suits to dresses. Girls, it was (the word I am looking for escapes me) but it was just a group of girls sitting around chatting. No one (except maybe? yours truly) appeared the least bit nervous, the saying about"You hear what you see!" Is soooo true!! The voices were irrelevant - I swear I did not even notice - we were just a group of girls talking.
For reasons that are immaterial, I could not go to dinner with them or to "party" afterward but the president sent me an Email with some picture s we took and said they missed me at diiner but everyone had a great time. A couple of them had been to the SCC in Atlanta (that I am going to!) They said it is, well one description was, kinda like the movie, "Animal House" and the toga party only it lasts for three days so be prepared to Party Hardy!!!! I'll regress a bit, but they said, picture a guy in a beautiful gown, bombed out of his gord, but still trying to maintain his feminine personna? uh and multiple that 100! and yet another line from the movie."This is gonna be fun!" And even more fun since several of our sisters here are going! We will try and "keep the faith" and try and remember we are your ambassadors,"one Tequila, two tequila. three tequila - floor!"
But all seriousness aside - no seriously, if you have the chance to attend a local meeting of your sisters, do it!!!! It will be well worth your time I promise! There is more , but I can not put it in writing on this forum, no nothing dirty, just some observations! I'll say this much - we (this forum) are well ahead in this game!
Love ya ALL!
