Ok, I admit it--When I write a post here, I get a little thrill everytime I press the Submit button.

Sometimes I do wish my computer were a bit more submissive.

I dont get a kick out of the submit button.
I will submit to nobody.

There have been times that I have been relieved when I am able get my post worded so that it presents what I want to say in a way that I can feel good about what I have presented. And there have been times when I have been excited about that. But I guess what excites me more is when I see some one else post something that is helpful to us..

Hey Sis!!! you are so right. Sometimes I read a potential post several times before I hit the button, then after I hit it and read it on the forum, I am embarrassed to see it - I wish I was as eloquent as a lot of my sisters here and the fact that we can mean one thing and without the emotional aspect of spoken words it can come out entirely different from what we want to say. We can only hope that our sisters are understanding enough to "read between the lines" so to speak.

This computer is prone to seizures , theres nothing worse that when you spend time on a well thought out post and type in a long essay only to find the computer freezes as you try to put in the last couple of words.

Reset - Restart - dialup - find - login - startover typing again

SUBMIT is another word for relief , when the " your message has been posted " window comes up .

Whenever I am going to post a long one (a rare occurrance) or need to really think it through with possibility of revision, I type it in Word or whatever word processor before plopping it in the forum. That saves me from having to rethink it all and maybe miss an important point if the PC crashes.

I think the biggest thrill was the submit # 1.
But just being part of this place makes me feel happy!

I sometimes use WordPad to compose my posts on this, my "internet cruiser" computer.

After doing the old "cut and paste" I usually preview it at least once, proofreading to catch the worst of the spelling and grammar.
My writing discipline from strict English class teachers in the late 50s and 60s has stayed with me.

I press Submit only after I'm satisfied that my post will make some kind of sense to those reading it.

I enjoy reading all of the posts on this forum.

I compose my posts in Mozilla Thunderbird. Outlook express also works, and I check my spelling with their spell checkers.

I read my posts exactly once, as I type them into the submission box. If I were to check and recheck *everything* I posted in Interweb forums, how do you imagine I would ever get anything done?

Yes, I love submitting, too. (Okay, how many jokes can we actually make about this? )

I usually write "live," i.e. in the forum's own reply page and then proofread once and edit if need be. If I've used words in my post the spelling of which I'm unsure about, I check them with ieSpell (which I've installed in my Internet Explorer toolbar).

Always, always, before I click on the "Submit" button, I highlight my text and copy it (to the clipboard, basically); I take no chances in losing a text I slaved over and then hitting an oh so frustrating "Unable to display this page" page when I try to submit it, and then to backtrack to my previous (text input) page only to find my text has disappeared.

Sometimes, like some of you, I compose in another program (usually Notepad--your basic ASCII editor), and then just copy and paste it into the reply window.

Yes, it's always a concern whether or not others will understand what you say in the spirit you intend it. There's a saying in these parts: Les paroles s'envolent; les écrits restent. Spoken words fly away; writings remain. People can (and do) dissect more easily what we write than what we say. In a way, this is good; it forces us to organize our thoughts before we submit.

I take great pleasure in reading what others write, here. Regardless of anyone's writing talent or ability, your hearts are always eloquent in your posts. And, to me, sincerity matters more than syntax, and gregariousness more than grammar.
