First Fem shopping trip
Well I finally got the nerve to do some shopping as Cindy.
I have been out too many times to count now, but always with a group at a TG friendly club or resturaunt.
I took the morning off yesterday and was dressed and ready to go by 8 AM. The first plan was to go to the nearby Walmart but I thought about the greeter at the front door and decided to go to Target instead.
At 6 ft and 200 lbs im to large to realy pass, and my hands are my biggest give away, not to mention they are cut scraped and burnt right now (war wounds from my day job ).
I dressed as casual as I could and did a light daytime makeup job on my eyes, also had a winter coat with pockets to store my ugly hands in :-)
After sitting in the parking lot working up my nerve, I opend the car door and then saw a retired friend from work getting out 3 spaces away from me.Lucky the car I was driving is a popular modle and I know he would never recognise me in girl mode, but was no way I was going in behind him.
So off to the other end of the shopping center and into Kohl's I went. The first thing I thought of was how loud the heels on my boots were in the near empty store !
Still nervous as heck, I just browsed for a couple minuits and went on out.
I dont think I drew any attention, and fealt real good that I had finaly made that step.
Next I drove to the Goodwill store nearby an went in. The ladies looked at me as I went in, but as I left after browsing they were paying me no attention, so maybe I did ok.
My total shopping time was probably less than the time it took to get my nerve up,, but I did feel good about the morning.
Ok , thats my short first shopping story, attatched is a pic from when I got home, not a great photo, but shows what I was wearing.

Have a great day all !

Seems like you never run into anyone you know until you don't want to
From your picture(s), you look like you pass easy enough, though. And as long as you look confident, I don't think anyone would give you a second glance. IMHO
So next time, you gonna buy something? Fem Gloves?

Hi Cindy,
What a wonderful story. I keep promising myself I'll get out more and do things like that, but I just haven't yet. I think it's wonderful you did though and I think you looked PERFECT!
If women were looking at you I think it was because they were going, "Wow.. she's pretty. I wish I was that tall and pretty."
Thanks for letting us know what you were up to and I hope there is more in the not too distant future.
What was it that inspired you to just do it? Oh, I also love your new profile picture too.

Thanks everyone!!
Thinking back, I used to be nervous about buying girl stuff in boy mode, now I take my time and enjoy it. Not sure shopping as Cindy will ever get that easy.
Donna, I have some nice gloves, but thought it would look funny in the store wearing them. I think it was 40 deg that morning too, but I wore them driving because I had not done my nails.
Beauty, you always say the nicest things :-) Thanks ! And Im not sure what motivated me? I have not been out since August I think,, missed SCC :-(( ,, may just be going stirr crazy :-))
Erin, next adventure may be a makeover (been thinking about that for years) then another shopping trip . Trust me if I do it youall will hear about it LOL
Gaby, Thanks, I think next time will be a lot easier, still not sure about talking to sales people, but browsing is so much cheaper anyway :-)
Suzie and I met at the mall once and had fun, even in boy mode. It would be great if we all could do that sometime as a group of girls *S*
Thanks again EVERYONE for the nice words !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed this post first time around. Wow, I like that picture a lot. Others are right about you blending right in. I keep looking for a coat more like that one, that's not as form-fitting as the one I have.
You got out--dressed!--at 8am. That impresses me, right there, because getting ready in the morning is no small task.
Shopping dressed up really is fun. I hope you get to do much more in '05.

Cindy,
You look great, as usual. My first experience, a year ago, was very similar to you. I am still more comfortable in boy mode shopping too. I have only dressed a couple times to shop this past year. I still haven't got my make-up right.
Again, you are beautiful. You are very brave and help all of us who wish to be who we are.
Love,
Kersten
