Out and About

I have been CDing for many years, and until recently, did I have the nerve to go out of the home and enjoy what life has to offer. Over the last year, I have been in and out of several stores, used ladies facilitys with discression, and enjoyed being free. I read a lot of posts, but I have to say, Rikki, has brought me to where I am today. and her quote, " act like you are doing nothing wrong" is what has set me free. By no means, am I an easy passable women. Let's say a size 24, 6' tall, and just a big ole gal. It's all about attiude and a friendly smile. I thank these boards for putting me in touch with others, and hopefully I can also be an inspiration to someone on the edge of that frst step! Enjoy,be happy, and dance like no one is watching. That's a nice post, Joann. Your happiness comes through, and I'm glad you got out. It is a big world out there, and "Women hold up half the sky," as our local feminist radio show used to say. There's nothing like being out there, and helping hold up the other half!

Rikki is one of our resident "wise beyond her years" posters. I think it's wonderful that you went out of your way to reference something she wrote that inspired you.

Congratulations, Joann NJ! I agree with you that Rikki is wise, also sincere, trustworthy, and unassuming. Your advice to “dance like no one is watching” reminds me of one of my favorite songs, “Come from the Heart,” which was sung by Kathy Mattea a few years ago. (I think it has also been sung by others, but I am not sure.)
