Recently I decided it was time to visit the eye doctor to get new glasses. After I had my exam I went to find some new frames and walked over the male frames. I wanted to find a set that was somewhat unisex. Now the wall that had the male frames had probably more than 100 frames and one pair just stood out to me, I looked for awhile but kept going back to the same pair that was my first choice. I told to lady who was helping me that this was the pair I wanted, she looked at them and then said "But these are female frames" I told her where I had found them, she said they must have been misplaced. After thinking about it for a moment I looked at her and said I don't care I like them. She just smiled and filled out the paperwork.
Here is a picture of it.
Hugs,
Stef
Live with memories of what you have done, not regrets over what you wish you had done.
No wonder why you picked them out - you know what looks good on you.
I don't think they would look out of place on you in male mode.
Last spring when my wife and I went for eye exams, I didn't need new glasses but my wife did. While we were looking in the Sears Optical dept, I found a large similarity in styles among the male, female, and unisex racks. She chose frames from the unisex rack.
I think the glasses I'm wearing in my avatar picture are fairly gender neutral. My glasses were pretty expensive with blended bifocals, coatings etc. and I only dress around the house, so I don't feel I can justify buying a pair of femme glasses.
You have only one pair of eyes, so please treat them with respect.
Fortunately, I don't need glasses (yet) but I have been interested in adding a pair just to create a new look.
What i'm leaning towards are sunglasses that are lightly tinted. I've been searching, but haven't found a pair that I really like yet.
BTW - I like your new frames Stef.

Kyra

'Male Frames, Female Frames'... I've never got the distinction...
Well, male or female, those look great on you, Stef!! I really need new frames myself, that's a neat style choice. I just might go for something like that.

I just purchased a pair of glasses at an online store. I was not even thinking about getting them for my female side, but the pair I got seem to work with both me's. I plan on ordering another pair down the road that are more girly.
There is just no denying that inner self. I can't help but beleive it is the inner self the selects the frames, just as it selects the clothes. I have a similar story when I found out that my sunglasses were actually intended for women. I did like you, I just picked a pair I liked. Anyway, that is a great story, I bet many crossdressers have similar stories.
I love the look. Wish I could have done the same but in the female frames there were none that were wide enough for my face. O well, I will have to look harder next time. I have a very wide face.
