It would be interesting to find out what that difference is.

As I understand it, the US position on all transgendered athletes is that women who were not born female can't compete, period. A lot of their prejudice is based on outdated research indicating that a post-op person undergoing HRT cannot develop female-pattern muscle mass, and would therefore be stronger/faster/et al, than their genetic female competitors.
