How Did You Spend Valentine's Day

How did you spend your Valentine's Day? For me it was a change from the usual. On most Valentine Days I would take Peggy out to eat sometimes as Mel and sometimes as Melanie. Tonight she cooked and served me a 4 course dinner. We both dressed up and ate in the formal dining room with our best china. She pulled out my chair for me, told me how beautiful I looked and put the napkin on my lap. Wow, have I died and gone to TG heaven? The meal of soup, salad, steak with veggies and a finish of Valentine chocolate cake with coffee. With dessert and coffee we exchanged cards and gifts. I gave her 3 pairs of ear rings and an appointment to have a laser beauty treatment on her face - how could she possibly become more beautiful! She gave me a beautiful silver necklace with a pendant. I also received a gorgeous glitzy top which I will wear in 12 days at the Captain's party on our cruise.

How can live get any better?

Hugs,

Melanie

I was coming down with something last night and felt pretty crappy this morning, so I called in sick and have spent pretty much all day hanging around home. No real Valentine's Day stuff - no one in my life to whom it would apply. Just another day (aside from feeling under the weather). !!OOO!!

We exchanged gifts before whe left for work yesterday morning.

After work we went to a Greek restraunt. She had a se food dinner with shrimp, scones and linguini, and I had trout stuffed with crab.

That evening, I washed her back while she bathed, and then we watched a little television.

We then went to get ready for bed. Surprise! I had left her a couple of more gifts on the bed. She put them on and then . . . .

Unfortunately, due to my poor paying job, I was not able to take my wife anywhere. I did however send her a dozen roses last week.

I have completely ceased to care about VDay. As Halloween is generally the highest point of my years, Valentine's has generally been the lowest. Traditionally I spend the evening weeping into my pillow, desperately depressed at the fact that my latest sappy syrup crush isn't working out. Well, it still isn't, but this year I felt nothing but a mild annoyance at all of the cutesy-heartsy hetero-vanilla korporat-approved romantic BS that is required viewing on so mass-manufactured a holiday as VDay. Call it an improvement if you will. I find the whole concept of St. Val's insulting. Insulting to singles as a class (and Jah forbid a single gal would attempt to get togeather with someone on VDay - it's like you're proposing marriage or something!), and insulting to couples to imagine that, one particular day out of the year, if you don't make some massive demonstration of romantic intent, you have failed as a lover. It makes me sick, but at least this VDay it didn't make me want to die.
bla*bla*bla pardon my bitterness. We now return you to your regularly scheduled shiny happy kissing-and-suchlike.

Hi all,

I had to work yesterday, but my wife and I started giving each other gifts on Saturday - when she gave me a pair of satin panties. On Sunday I gave her a pair of pierced rose earrings (and also showed her my matching clips). On Monday we exchanged our other gifts for each other - my wifes favorite sugarless chocolates, and she gave me a white rhinestone pendant on a silver chain.

We had dinner at home, and walked to church for a meeting and ice cream social. After we returned home, I changed (at her request) into a camisole and tap pant set (red with small black hearts) and my new pendant.

Given my domestic situation, I took the advise of one of my sisters here and did get her a card, "Thinking of You" She "posted" it on the refriderator where it hangs this day! For me, Valentine's Day was just another bite of the proverbial s#$@ sandwich!

Ditto!!! !!!yes!!! !!!yes!!! !!!yes!!!

Even when I was in a relationship I never cared for Valentine's day. Who needs all the hearts & commercials & shopping thrust in our faces? We should be expressing our love 365 days a year and don't need just one day where we're all forced to. Plus I too have always resented the age-old social implications that just because one is single then one is somehow a "loser". I totally disagree. In fact I don't even use the term single. I choose the term AVAILABLE.

This year I was my own Valentine. I bought myself some clothes & jewelry. Done.

Plus some of us are still mentally recovering from the Christmas madness 2 months after the fact. #-o

Hi there,

Sorry I missed this one.

I went to the mall and purchased her two outfits. One she wore the next day to work. Her co-workers told her I had good taste. lol! If they only knew, no? :)

I laid the gifts on the stair case and it was great seeing her looks when she saw the boxes and when she opened them. :)

Then I ordered food and went to pick it up. We ate together without TV, just us talking. It was pretty romantic and she's been singing and humming tunes for a few days now. :)
