Have you ever gone out enfemme?

From the comments I received prior to my recent outing enfemme, I wonder how many of us have ever gone out trying to pass, not just in androgynous clothing or with women's jeans or undies that aren't readily spotted.

Brief walks in secluded woods en femme and Halloween is about it so I have never tried to pass. I under dress alot and sometimes wear womens clothing that could be confused with mens clothing-my little joke.

I think it would be fun but it would involve doing things I do not want to do such as shaving off my beard. So I guess I don't want to do it that much..........

I've done so a few times. First time fully dressed was in 1975, I think. First time outside in a blouse and skirt was around 1965.

Hi all,

I have been out dressed many times in my younger days. Mostly at night. Once in the middle of the day. but never with the intention of passing. And do not aspire to do it any more.

I didn't vote, because I wasn't sure exactly which the closest answer for me would be.

I'm not at a stage where I would feel confident enough.

I would need to get more used to doing makeup, mannerisms, etc. and at this exact point in my life, I feel comfortable just dressing around home with all femme clothing, shoes, jewelry, wig - almost everything except makeup on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure I would not pass and don't feel like taking the risk by going out locally (maybe Halloween).

But, I'm never going to say never.

In another year or so I plan on retiring and having more Jadeanne time, so makeup will become more frequent.

My loving, supporting wife told me she would let me go to a large CD gathering some day.

I think I would prefer one out of town, that would last for several days, have a big sister program (for encouragement), seminars, workshops, and other activities. I think I would feel comfortable enough in that environment to go out to places with a group.

This is my personal view,

Jadeanne,

Thought you might be interested in this. I plan on going. Give it some thought.

On vacation from work this week so:

Tuesday- to an outlet shopping center, surprisingly the only things I bought were kitchen items

Wednesday- grocery shopping

Thursday- a drive, ending up at a small mall, plus gassing the car (not self-serve)

I went to a mall with a GG who had done my makeup and a Pre-op TS. :) I had a good time shopping with the GG while the TS was getting her ears pierced. I was made by a couple old guys, and after about an hour the stress got to me and I had to suggest we leave.
I had a detailed story about that experience, but it was lost ina disk crash. :(

My first time out in public fully dressed was Halloween of 1996. And with the exception of last November, I've been going out at least once a week since 1998.

Jadeanne,, If you ever go to a meeting such as you have talked about, I would be there too in a flash. I would reaally like to meet both you and your wife. So let me know. Please, please.

I have been out to wash my car, several times. Been to Walmart three times, Gas up the car, both self serve and pay inside. Walgreens, Kmart, Salvation Army to try on jeans, and ARC thrift to lock my keys in the car. haven't been out since that one. So it's time to dust off the panties , bras, and boots and get my little butt out there. Had a real fun time at the Salvation army store. I would really like to go to the mall some day. keep dressin keep postin and keep smilin.......Kristen

About going out...

Hello everybody.

Looks like a majority of those voting in this poll have indeed gone out. However, I doubt that is a reflection on the proportion of CD's going out in real life.

First, because those who access this forum have already taken steps that many who may not have 'net access have taken. Like (mostly) coming up with a femme name, an e-mail address, etc. Also, even from those visiting this site, those who may have never gone out may not be interested in answering that question.

Anyway, just wanted to say to those who have never gone out (or have never gone out YET)

It is totally ok. You don't have to go out if you don't want to go out. Even if you want to go out, you may just have too much to lose if find out. Because remember that being "read" is usually no big deal, but being recognized is a whole different thing.

True, there are some safe venues where you can go out to, but it is not exactly like going out for real. But it may be enough to provide you with an outlet where you can interact with others.

Don't let anybody push you to go out. It is your life. Make it your personal decision. In general, going out is cool... but not to any cost. And remember that staying home has a lot of perks, too. :)

Finally, just be aware of one thing... Going out is very likely to change your life, or at least your perspective in life.

I like what Gaby said a lot. I would love to find a reason to be in Provincetown for the fantasia fair or something like that but otherwise I am not ready for that level of change.

Also think that it is very true that we are probably not representative of crossdressers as a whole-we have selcted out many of the folks who don't even bother with this enough to bother posting.
