In difference to my friend Danielle, what I was on my "sabbatical" I tried the laser hair removal. I went four times. The first time 21 zaps! -nuttin!!! The second time, she said the hair was not long enough, that after 6 zaps. Third time, longer beard, and, and I put dark hair dye or beard dye - I looked rediculous, and this time she managed to literally burn my face in two places and again, no change. The forth time she zaped a couple of times and was afraid to work around the still tender, but improving burned areas. I requested my money back! I got most of it back with an apology and to come back this winter and they would try again. I don't think so!! I will stick to shaving real close.
I think I or the "provider" is an exception - so my only advice is if you plan to go this route do your homework, evidently better than I did.
My face has returned to normal, that is the burns have healed but it will be a long time before I try that agaian.
Don't however let my experience scare you off if you are considering it, I think it is well worth it if you can get a compentent provider an can put up with the agravation.

The Vegas Flash returneth!!!! You did not say if you played ( the games) while you were out there? I have been there eight or nine times. What a great vacation spot and did you take the "construction" tour of the dam? Have to wear a hard hat and all but you see the real working guts of the dam. Absolutely unbelieveable and to thing they did it all withOUT computers. Of course you missed the "Chicken Ranch" I would bet on that. No, I ain't been there either
. There are some great restaurants out there too, but you have to look for them, they are not usually in the tourist routes. Anyway glad you had a good time. If you saw my itenerary on my trip to Palm Springs - 6 airports and 22 hours, yes Las Vegas was one of the stops on the tour.

Played the slots a little, if I had a few extra quarters in my pocket that is.
Played a little craps, with someone else's money. The only way to play
Tempting as it was, I don't have fun if I'm loosing my own money.
Didn't do the hard hat tour, or at least we didn't need hard hats. We went down as far as the turbines.

It is I good lady who had laser. Danielle had IPL done.
It's a very good thing you posted this. You shouldn't ever got to anyone who hasn't been recommended or doesn't have major experience.
I'm so sorry your face was burned. That is so messed up.
What kind of laser system was it, btw? The name, I mean?

I was the first male that they had done from what I could gather. They said the "machine" was "state of the art." It had a handle and the head of it was "T" shaped about six inches long. She said that they did a lot of girls' legs and had had great results. I think my problems was not only the courseness, but the, dare I say, light, ah, hell, gray beard, just reflected the light, thus the Mennen Beard dye that I put on that still did not seem to help. I really can't blame them other than she did dial it up pretty high the two times it singed me. Like she said it just is not for everybody and I guess I meet that category. Unfortunately, dont' have the time, patience or intestinal fortitude to sit throught the "one hair at a time routine."
That being said, for those that are interested in having it done - don't use me as an example - you may have excellent results so if you are thinking about it, give it a try and if it works for you the results are well worth it!

Hi Virginia,
If you can find out the name of the laser that would go a long way. Old lasers did legs fine too.
Ummm.. well, unless you don't wanna. I can respect if you don't.
They were right about one thing. Laser will not work on light hair, but that's about all they were right about though.
The Mennen Beard dye wouldn't work, you're right because the hair follicle has to be dark at the root for the hair to get zapped by the laser. That's where the magic is, at the root.
Laser isn't for everybody? Well, I don't agree with that, but I can't argue the point either.
I kind of don't like them (ok, I really don't like them) because they burned your face, so I'm a little bit less than listening to anything they say, even if it's half true. Laser works on anyone who has dark hairs. If your skin doesn't like the laser that's different, but the hair (unless it's light) gets zapped no matter what.
These people are so lucky to still have a business because you didn't report them. If an insurance company finds out a laserologist burned someone they revoke their insurance immediately. My laserologist was telling me insurance agencies have been paying out big bucks lately because more and more people who are buying these machines and aren't trained who are destroying people's lives (by burning them) as they train on them instead of training the correct way.
I don't blame you about not having electrolysis. I was so happy that laser worked because I don't think I'd have ever been hairless. 10-25k and one hair at a time and hours in a chair.
I don't know if I could have done it.
I think people should use you as an example Virginia. People shouldn't take their faces for granted or who they trust with their faces. You were a hero to me for coming here and telling what happened too. Seriously I can't thank you enough. Even I was beginning to take things for granted, ya' know?
If you still have dark hairs, I hope you don't give up trying to find someone who is qualified.
