Virtual makeover sites

I've been trying to find the right foundation color for some time, spent a small fortune on trying stuff !!! Had a lot of fun so far but I a not getting the look I want! Finally tried a couple of the virtual makeover sites. Beauty Riot seemed to have the easiest to work with, BUT they had not foundation options!

Has anyone else tried these virtual makeover sites and had any success?

Tried a bunch of those virtual makeover sites, but the problem i find is that when i use my drab pic and make changes, they only do blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lips, but never with concealer or foundation...

They seem not to work. If you have a Merle Norman cosmetic store in your area give them a try. In the local store near me, the owner is extremely helpful and has coordinated all the colors and type of products for me. She has even give of herself to provide training in applying the make up especially in the areas of the eyes. With her assistance I now have the correct color eye makeup, foundation, loose powder and a nice selection of various lipsticks. I know the difficulty that you have had in selection and the use of virtual sites, this eliminates the problem. If you are un-easy about going into the store, call ahead, make an appointment and give the reason that you will be a a local theather production and would like to have assistance. Once you develop a relationship with the staff it will be a bonfide bonanza if having this type of support.

Stephanie offers good advice. Most Merle Norman's will give you a complete makeover for free, but they do expect you to buy some of there products and they are good, but a bit pricy, well at least more than "Cover Girl!"
As for your reason for the makeover, don't tell them something that can come back and bite you on the rear end. The last thing you want to hear is "OH, really I do the make up for all the local acting guilds, which one are you with?" You probably would not be the first crossdresser that they have dealt with and in most stores will recommend the best time to come in when they are not busy or when you and/or they feel comfortable in working with you. Beyond that, dress up and just schedule an appointment and go for it girl - you can't be arrested for being yourself, honey!!
