Since I haven't been around I have not had the opportunity to tell you about my GG friend's wedding last month! What can I say? I had a WONDERFUL time!! @@9@@

For the wedding we had a beautiful day - 82 degrees and sunny, no humidity at all. I took the train out earlier that day to meet up with my CD friend Erica & her wife Jessica - I was able to change at their place. (Erica & I were the only TGs at this affair) For the wedding I wore a cute white dress with pink floral patterns & white pumps. Erica & her wife Jessica wore almost matching pink dresses & sandals.

We arrived at the Tennis Inn at Westhampton Beach at around 6pm in time for the cocktail hour. This was one of the most beautiful catering halls I have seen in a very long time. I was happy to once again see the bride's family as well as everyone I met at the bridal shower, but this time around I was meeting people from the groom's side and was a tad nervous. But after a few moments I realized there was absolutely no reason to be. Everybody was real friendly.

Af few minutes later we were all called up to the reception area with an outdoor balcony area where chairs were set up, overlooking the beach. Here a brief ceremony was to be performed by a judge.

Now as soon as the judge said "If anyone feels this couple should not be joined togethewr, let him speak now or forever hold his piece." Naturally that drew a few chuckles from the crowd. "Hold his piece". Perhaps better wording should have been used. #-o

After the ceremony, the staff quickly broke down the chairs. Then tables containing fruits, hors doevures & champagne were wheeled in, and the bar was opened.

The food was superb, the drinks were perfect, and the music was pumping. Everything was truly top-notch. And Alisha looked truly STUNNING.

Now, my guess is that I was not read by many of the guests, but if I was, then apparently no one cared - in fact I recieved quite a few compliments on my dress, and one the grooms friends asked to walk back from the bar to the reception area, arm in arm.

Oddly enough, there was no bouquet toss. (Sorry, I know some of you were wondering if Lorna went to go catch the bouquet, LOL) But there was another female wedding tradition in which I was glad to finally be able to partake - kicking off your shoes to go dance!

The wedding party ran till about 11pm or so. I had a blast!! A few nights later, the bride, groom, his friends from the UK, and all of Alisha's friends, we all went bowling & had a great time.

They honeymooned in Spain, and have since settled in London. She's going to send me an e-mail once they're fully settled. Needless to say they want me to visit. Now I have an excuse to go visit London sooner rather than later!!

Here is a pic of the bride & groom, Alisha & Andy (taken with my phone) there will be more pics coming soon!!!

Lorna,

Welcome back! We missed you.

Thank you for sharing your experience. For most of us, being invited to attend a wedding and reception able to wear a lovely dress, and being warmly accepted by everyone attending is just a happy dream.

We are all looking forward to more pictures.

Hugs,

Jadeanne

What a great looking couple, but of course we would like to see Lorna as well. I am glad that you had such a great time. You know you missed my post on going to the Roanoke Pride "Night of Elegance" a formal dinner/dance sponsored by the local gay/lesbian alliance here. I went with my pre-op friend Brandi and had the very best time. About 150 people and you remember my post about what a CD'er would do in a situation like that and get asked to dance - Well I found out - no question, no hesitation, I got up and danced as a lady should! Those gay guys are soooooooooo smooth, charming, and great dancers too!
Aren't we all so luck to have found ourselves!!!!??
Love ya,
Virginia
