Hi Darla,
We have some other members your age. Do a search on 15 and you may get some good teenage advice too.
If you're not out to your parents the only thing I can tell you is be safe, be conservative, and be safe again. Kids at your age can be violent when they see people who are different. I don't want to see your expression of who you are go backwards when you're doing so much to find out who you are.
Yes, I'm a total fuddy duddy and I wish I could tell you to just "go for it", but I worry too much and I just want you to think it out and have friends who'll support you and not go out without your parents knowing exactly where you're going.
I'm not being a parent here either. I don't have children. I'm just telling you what I think I'd tell you if I was that age again. Be safe!

Darla,
with Beauty. I think it's great that you're exploring another side of yourself, but please, please, please choose your locations and activities wisely. I'm not trying to be a scaremonger, but stories of young ladies such as Gwen Araujo being in the wrong place at the wrong time are heartbreaking.
Being 15, I would guess that you're either planning on something you can walk to or know someone with a driver's license. Make sure that you have a good "support system" of friends (or your parents) who understand this part of yourself first. You want to make sure that someone "has your back", so to speak, in case you get into an uncomfortable situation. Go with a group, if at all possible.
Take Care,
Angie

The urge to go out will probably be with you forever, and going out will probably not minimize the urge, unless something awful happens. Even then it will more than like return.
So, take your time, prepare for all possibilities, and prepare in advance to maintain a safety zone around you. When all feels right to you, then try going out for a short time. I would suggest not going out at night, however, as things can change easily without you being aware of it, unless it's your back yard or something.
And try not to let the 'rush' you get from going out override your safety.
