No, not fun, not fun at all!

Hi all,

Well, you can call this one "Definitely Not Fun Stuff While CD'ing"!!! An appropriate sub-title would be: "Digital Camera Woes" You see, for the first time in almost nine months, I finally had some quality en femme time. I thought I'd capture some of it on film (so to speak). Although I did get a few shots in, I mistakenly deleted from the card some of my best ones (about 60 pix went down the drain), thinking I'd already downloaded them to my PC. :(

Oh well, I guess it's not a total loss; I had fun anyway. :) As soon as I can figure out why the Gallery won't let me in, I'll post the few that I actually saved.

Love,
CJ

Hey CJ,

Glad you got some quality en femme time in after going so long without it. Can you tell us what it was like after all this time? Hope some of that was fun at least?

Meant to tell you: that's a great new avatar! Did that come from the lost session?

Hi all,

Darlene,

As you can probably guess, it felt great. I have to admit, though, that I was well on the way to forgetting just how time-consuming the whole process really is. But it felt like I was coming home, so to speak. I'm just hoping it won't be another nine months before I do it again. Next time, I think I'll be enlisting my roommate Marie and our friend Carole to help me co-ordinate my outfits (they're both more than willing). As it is, I just don't know what to wear. I took everything out--my femme clothing was still mostly in boxes from our move earlier this summer--and piled it on the living room couch, on my bed, on the chairs in the study, on the washer and dryer in the bathroom, and on unopened boxes in the hallway. The place looks like a transvestite war zone. Today, I have to start putting everything away (in fact, that's what I should be doing as we speak, rather than writing on the forum #-o ) but my room is still too disorganized for me to even access my (still empty) chests of drawers. I'll get to it soon enough. Thanks for asking, Darlene. 8)

Anita,

Yes, the new avatar is from a photo I took two days ago. I did manage to download about 30 pix or so to the computer, of which a half-dozen are good enough for the forum gallery (including one taken as I returned from my "Elizabethan" outing). Thanks for the compliment, by the way. Feedback is always appreciated.

Love,
CJ

Hi CJ, :(

I'm sorry you lost the pictures, but I do think it's more of a joyous occasion that you got to express all of yourself! :) *-* *-* *-*

I can't wait to see your new photos!

CJ,

If you camera uses a memory card that looks like a drive on your computer? You may be able to use a software recovery tool like Ontrack or PC Inspector. I have sucessfully done this. I beleive I did the same thing as you. I thought I transfered the photos, deleted the camera without checking to make sure I had them, only to find out I did not.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I absolutely hate losing pictures, it makes me feel like I lost a piece of my or my family's history.

Anyway, I am so glad you got dressed up and got out. I know it feels great and you sound like you had a great time, other than losing your pics. Also, I like the new avatar. I like it a lot although I can not put my finger on just why I like it. It seems to give clues into your personality, but I'm not certain.

Good luck getting your stuff put away and I hope you are able to get dressed up as often as the mood hits you.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi all,

Thanks, Beauty. You're right, of course, the expression of "Christina" is what matters, not necessarily the recording of it. Still, I'm thinking I'll have to try again, and soon. Maybe when I'm slightly more organized.

Elizabeth,

Yes, I've heard of data recovery software but the fact is I took loads more photos afterwards (unrelated to my CD'ing activities) so chances are incredibly high that what was there, on the card, that was potentially recoverable got overwritten.

It's a bit frustrating because I'd managed to create for myself a punk/goth look that I've always wanted to try (it took me more than an hour for the makeup alone!) and I captured some great shots. All of it gone now. Like I told Beauty, I'll just have to try again soon.

Love,
CJ
