What's your favorite hosiery and where do you get it?

Hi all,
In another thread, Kyra asked a question about stockings and I thought I would start a thread about what our favorite hosiery is and where we get it.
I do have a few pairs of pantyhose given to me by my wife that I wear occasionally (a few castoffs, fancy floral and fishnet), and a few pairs of thigh highs, trouser socks, and knee highs, but a lot of the time when I'm dressed as Jadeanne, I'm a retro-50's - early 60's garter girl.
My favorite stockings are Hanes Silk Reflections sandalfoot stockings, National style 787 run resist support stockings (reinforced heel and toe), and National style 900 stretch stockings (reinforced heel and toe). I did try National's style 4517 non run stockings but didn't really like them - not silky enough and only the toe is reinforced. I have tried a variety of colors and vary them to go along with the rest of my outfit.
I buy my stockings online from
http://www.onehanesplace.com
and
http://www.shopnational.com
I hope both CDs and GGs will post their hosiery preferences and the places thet get them. Curious minds want to know(yes- bleached blondes DO have minds

)
What are your legs/feet wearing?

I have tried dozens of brands available up here in Canada over many years. Of the brands I have tried I do not go hog wild buying those ultra- expensive ones.
I have enjoyed the fit and feel of Secret Silky Sheers and the are modestly Priced from anyhwere from $4.50 - $6.00 Cdn each.
I also liked Wonder Bra silky sheer types too. But the best pantyhose I have been able to get are Leggs Sheer activity. A local discounter near where I live carries a variety of these at believe it or not under $2.00 Cdn for a two pair box. Their SUNTAN is exquisite in colour and fit, but so too is black and off-black.

Hi all,
Lacey, good to hear from you... it's been a while.
I also like Secret Silky Sheers. Still, my favorite brand are DIM's. Both of these I buy at the Bay's downtown. DIM hosiery is a little pricy, though.
About three years ago, I became a member of Enchantress Hosiery, a mail-order Pantyhose Club (sort of like Columbia House). I was only a member for about a year or so (I just had to stop at some point as I now own more pairs of pantyhose than there are hairs on my body!

). Believe it or not, the quality of their hosiery is actually pretty good. For those of you that might be interested, I've provided the links below.
As for stockings, I usually purchase them either in thrift stores (where the fully-fashioned stuff never seems to go out of style) or at the underwear and lingerie manufacturer's outlets, up in the garment disctrict. Girls, you just haven't lived until you've spent the better part of a Saturday afternoon in an elbow war with meaty, East European and South Asian women searching for the perfect girdle and the sheerest hose!

It's a madhouse in there but it's also a lot of fun.
About hose, here's a tip (many of you might know already): scrub your heels with a pumice stone, or something equivalent, every time you take a bath or a shower, and keep your toenails smoothly filed. You'll double the life expectancy of whatever hosiery you choose to wear.
Love,
CJ Silky

Although all of these are basically the same company, it seems that, unfortunately, the U.S. site doesn't offer the free pair of pantyhose.

Well, I usually buy pantyhose based on how they look and feel, not by how durable they are supposed to be.... I find that some brands don't offer shades that go well with my own skin tone.
For pantyhose, I usually buy "Silken Mist" by Leggs (about $4.00)
I like the way these feel. The shades that are available are good for me too.
For thigh highs, I like the "Signature Gold" by Victoria's Secret (about $20.00)
These are expensive, but I usually only wear these home and are very careful with them

I love the lace trim these have. My last pair, lasted quite a while for me, until our kitten got a hold of them, UGH!! :x
I have trouble with thigh highs staying up on my thighs (skinny, little leggs), these have a stretchy rubber that clings to your thigh, and they stay in place. I wear them with or without a garter belt.
I don't wear
stocking because they are usually too loose around my legs and they must be worn with a garter belt.
But, if I have a choice, and it's summer......I would tan my legs and apply a good moisturizer and not wear them if at all possible.

They are too hot and uncomfortable for me.

Hi all,
Charla,
Pantyhose waisband "rolldown" is, indeed, a problem sometimes. There are a couple of solutions to this, though. Wearing, as you do, a foundation garment (or even high-waisted panties) over the pantyhose is one. This is what I also tend to do. Another is to wear pantyhose that offer a more firm support panty. Still another option is to wear a body stocking instead of pantyhose. The only real problem with this, of course, is that, if you find yourself in a situation where you must undress in a flash (and I can certainly imagine a few such situations!), you have to remove everything else you're wearing before you can take off the body stocking. That, plus the fact that you have to become a mighty adept at "holding it in," as body stockings usually have no open crotch.
Love,
It's refreshing to hear a GG refer to clothing in terms of esthetics and sensuousness rather than in merely practical terms. I've met many women who don't really understand crossdressers's "fixation" on the look and feel of what, to most women, is pretty much just a way of not going around naked. The fact is, wearing hose and clingy or silky garments is very much a tactile thrill; slipping into a "second skin," does lead to sensual (and, for many, to sexual) pleasure. Plus, the idea of a "second skin" has many attendant meanings for a lot of CDs.
Love,
CJ

I'm another pantyhose girl. My wife and I agree--we both find pantyhose really comfortable. And we love to look at each other's legs in hose!
My current fave is Ashley Stewart's ultrasheers in utopia. Ashley Stewart is a really cool store. It's a black-owned plus size store, so their stores tend to be in neighborhoods that have a large number of black women. Their clothing styles have a lot of variety, but could best be described as sexy but not for teenagers. Utopia is a gentle taupe--not quite as much black as some other taupes I've seen. It adds just the right amount of color to make my legs look like the color of my face and arms.
I love Ashley's day sheers, too, for colored hose--white, off-white, blue, black and coffee.
My latest Ashley Stewart find is my Easter outfit--a pastel pink suit. Should look great with utopia ultrasheers. And my next find (I have to hunt for)--pink heels! I love a shopping challenge!!

I recently bought some very nice, "just my size" silky sheer hosiery at the grocery store. I really like it.

I've worn all the brands (Hanes, No Nonsense, VS) but am currently partial to Leggs Sheer Energy. I just love the way they look and feel!
My preferred colors are black, and Coffee (my skin tone!)

I enjoy a lot of the HUE line of hosiery, thought my favorite for feel is Hanes Silk Reflections.
I used to enjoy the SILKIES line of hosiery when I first started shopping for hose, but felt it to be like sandpaper when compared to Silk Reflections.

How on earth did I miss this thread? I love the silky feel of nylons next to my skin. Leggs Sheer Energy are probably my fav. for pantyhose. My preference is stockings (with garter, of course) I have difficulty finding them locally. I usually wind up at Vic. Secret, or Frederick's to buy them.
Brand names elude me just now, but being "thrifty" means you buy inexpensive when you can.
Hugs,
Kyra

My favorite brands of pantyhose are Leggs, and Silkies. In the leggs brand, I prefer sheer energy with sheer toe and control top. I buy them at walmart...just 2 blocks from home. I have to order the Silkies right from the company, because none of the stores around here carry them.
Hugzzzz,
Geena

Hi, all
Here's a question from a US bleached blonde -
Have any forum members bought stockings from
http://www.stockingshq.com/
and if so, how was the buying experience?
This Buffalo, NY area "garter girl" would like to know - there are lots of really neat stockings listed there for what I consider decent prices and I wondered how reliable they are and what I could expect for shipping time (good things are worth waiting for).
I would appreciate replies from anyone who has dealt with them - either North American or from anywhere else in the world - or close by star systems (please excuse the last location - the bleached blonde got loose for a moment

)
