Shopping trip to Kohl's in Newport News today
Although I was in drab, I had a wonderful time! I went to the new Kohl's and bought almost a complete outfit. They were having a sale on boots and I couldn't resist. Anyway, I went into the store and looked around. I'm dressed in a suit , looking very professional. I go to the boots and nothing strikes my fancy. It's also pretty crowded so I decided to leave. As I'm leaving a sales associate asked if I needed any help. I asked her if they had any corduroy mens dress pants ( I was looking for them alsoandcouldn't find them). She says sure and takes me to them. At this point I decided that I would get some corduroy femme jeans. So we went and looked at a bunch of jeans, we looked at long jeans and cropped jeans and bell bottomed jeans. We were in hyper shopping mode. She asked me if my wife was tall, and at that point I told her that the jeans were for me. She "oh, ok" and off we went to look at more jeans and a belt. We looked for tops and all the while we are talking about the clothes she likes and what might work for me. We found some boots that we liked and I got them too. I asked her if she helped a lot of crossdressers. She said that a fireman comes in and shops in the Juniors department. All in all, it was a great time!!

Thanks all. I have found that honesty is the best policy. I actually had a saleslady at a department store (in the bra department) tell me she was glad I "owned up" because it made it easier to help me. Test the waters before you say anything but he worst thing that can happen is they won't help you andyou leave the store. Bet that doesn't happen. YMMV, but that's my experence.
