Well, I am sure that my SO/SL will read this and have some interesting thoughts of her own.
We are planning a nice week-end (crossed fingers that nothing prevents it)
We are going to Richmond, Friday. Virginia will help drive and we will first go to the Goodwill store that we found and got some unbelieveable items, then on to the hotel, primp and off to Babe's. Babe's is a developing legend in Richmond. It has been around for a while and it is like a little neighborhood bar and restaurant for, primarily, lesbians. Nothing special about the food, but it is good. They have a few pool tables and the girls are all so friendly. Some, as I found out the hard way, shoot a mean stick too! Then it will be probably back to the hotel to primp more and of to "Z-2's" a cosmopolitan bar where most of the clients are, well it is a bit of everyone you can imagine, but all are so nice. It is like they are just glad to have a place to go where they can feel safe and be themselves and enjoy each other. They usually have several FI's doing a show (that's female impersonators) and I don't know where they get the energy? amazing - they seem to put their heart and soul in every act!
Then about mid-night off to the private club - Fielden's for their "First Friday's." We = crossdressers are given free reign of the club. Some dancing, but mostly just shooting a bit of pool and visiting. Again, such a great group and so nice. Don't know how many will show up, could be four or five or could be 50 - 60.
My interest will be with my SO, although she accepts and loves Virginia, she has never been to such "interesting" places. I hope she will not be overwhelmed?! Knowing her that will not be the case as she makes friends seemingly with anyone and definitely with "us." It will be a fun time, for her, I hope.
I will or she will or we both will let you all know how it goes when we get back. A couple of our sisters from here are planning on attending as well and any of you who wish to consider coming as well, let me know and I will give you additional information.

You're gonna have to keep that SL on a tight leash (although she may actually enjoy that!) given she has led a very sheltered life down in the l'il ole Fla town she used to live in. You might also want to watch those gals in Babe's who might just take a shine to her. As long as is not a trait of yours, you should be ok. Just don't let her too near the bar either. I can only imagine what she might be like after a few drinks in a strange place.

Hey, I'm really looking forward to this weekend! Babe's, Z2's, then Fielden's - sounds like a lot of fun! And we can't forget about shopping at Goodwill - lots of bargains to be found there!!

My friend SW is forgetting I'm originally from the Motor City - Detroit born and raised - so there's not much I haven't seen in my life, nor am I easily shocked or embarrassed.

I am planning on wearing my new black leather dress with knee-high black boots. Sorry, SW, no leashes or whips - - that is, unless someone decides to get on the wrong side of SL!! I rarely have more than 2 drinks while away from home - I prefer to keep a clear head and play it safe. I'll save any drinking for when I'm in my own home!

Ditto to what Virginia said - - Anyone from the forum who would like to come to Richmond this Friday night and partake of the festivities, just send a PM to Virginia for more information.

Well, I'm hoping that I can come. Still up in the air. Will know more as the week goes on.

Made my reservations at the Comfort Inn for tomorrow night.

Bringing my wife along, but not to the club, unless she changes her mind

She agreed to come along when I said we could go fabric shopping. Maybe even to Charlottesville.

Now I won't have to drive home in the wee hours of the morning.

Hopefully I won't forget to bring the "Kinky Boots" dvd along.

I've made our reservations for the same hotel, we'll be checking in about 4:30p or so - - have to make a stop at the Goodwill store first!!

I'm looking forward to meeting your wife - maybe at breakfast or brunch on Saturday?

Wow!
I love it! We just spent about three hours trying to decide what to wear to the various places tomorrow!!! Let's see, something to wear to Richmond in the car, then to shop in, then to the hotel and change for dinner at Babe's then back to the hotel to change again for Z-2's and Fielden's then another outfit to wear back home!! Then at least one or maybe two alternatives and panty hose incase of runs and oh my --- shoes and the temperature on Friday (probable rain but in the mid-60's) Saturday may require a side trip as they said it could hit the low 70's and plenty of sun!
It's almost 11:00pm and SL is still packing and unpacking - I guess Virginia will change her mind again and repack in the morning! It is such fun though, especially when we can wear a lot of the same outfits and I have already changed my mind once and ended up giving SL the gray wool angora skirt I had initially chosen to wear with my new peasant blouse. Decided to go with a creme color wool skirt, (it is a bit shorter than the gray one - well all right a lot shorter.) At least the truckers will have a nice day! And pocketbooks gheesh - what, three so I can color coordinate.
Such fun!
Girls, get out and just do your thing it is such fun!!!!

PS: Too bad it is going to be so warm! Burlington Coat Outlet is having a sale and I bought the most beautiful full length, black, fur coat with a "too die for" fur hood and black fur trim cuffs on the sleeves. I am taking it anyway, who know we may get a blizzard in Richmond!

This sounds like a fantastic time! Have a blast for me as my huby and I will most likey be at the hospital having this bundle of joy, We were at the hospital last night but the baby is not head down enough yet so the contractions are not doing what they need to....ugh!

SL you will have a blast. I love going with Elayne out. It is so much fun to get all girlied up together.

It was great seeing SL and Virginia again.

The evening didn't start out so great though. First, after packing and getting ready to head out, my wife told me she had changed her mind and didn't want to go with me.

It upset me a little because I wanted her to meet SL. Plus, the only reason I rented a hotel room is because she said she'd go. Normally I'd have gotten ready at home and then driven back home in the early morning.

The hotel room was quite warm and the air unit would not put out cool air. I could not stop sweating to apply my makeup properly. I had a little folding hand fan and a wipe towel in one hand, and makeup in the other. I'd get a part of my face dry, fan it to keep it that way, and then put on makeup in that area.

Normally makeup may take 1/2 an hour. I got there at 10 and didn't finish getting ready until 11:45.

I reckon I looked OK, however, as when the elevator stopped on 4, three guys didn't say word. Then, on the second floor where the car was parked on the back deck, a gentleman held the door for me.

Got to Fieldens 2 minutes before opening, checked my makeup in the visor mirror, and at 12 headed towards the club. Virginia and SL were on the sidewalk heading in at the same time.

So, we hugged and started to cross the street, when a Richmond cop pulled up along the sidewalk right beside us. He/She didn't say anything, but we were jaywalking

Meeting and talking to most of the girls again was nice. I gave the bartender a copy of the movie "Kinky Boots", which he played on all the televisions later in the evening/morning.

SL, Virginia and I played some three handed pool later on. Once we learned the rules that Virginia kept making up, SL and I managed to win a game or two.

I kept the hand fan going all the while. You'd a thought I was trying to look like a southern bell, if it wasn't for my outfit, which consisted of a blue T-shirt I bought at Boyd's Bear country in PA. It had some cute teddy bears on it.

Later, at the hotel, we made unfirm plans to have breakfast/brunch later in the morning after checkout. However, I didn't get to sleep until after 05:30, due to the heat and getting all the makeup off, etc. I figured they weren't going to do any better, so when I woke and got dressed, I let them sleep in. Headed home at 10, and had a very busy day.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well Donna,it sounds like your weekend was somewhat successful.... I didn't even get a chance to put on all the gear I lugged up to the room. Somehow we wound up with a suite in the casino's hotel....... I mean king bed, hot tub, two baths, big screen, the whole works with a wonderful view of Atlantic City. It was more important at the time that I conduct myself accordingly, and let the dressing go for another time. My wife truly had a blast........ and so did I! A little sad about not dressing, but we won a little, enjoyed each others company, and enjoyed ourselves. Maybe next weekend............... (fingers crossed)
