I had a fun weekend

I was at the Renaissance symposium in San Jose this past weekend. I had a ticket to the dinner on Saturday night. At 5pm I found out that the dinner was to be semi formal. I brought no nice clothes with me. So I was just going to wear a pair of leggings and a dress that I had brought with me. My really good friend brought 3 dresses with her. She was wearing a very nice dress which I also uploaded the pics of. She let me wear her Blue Velvet dress. I had great comments from people. The comment I got the most was "Damn you look better in that dress then I would" from a lot of the woman. The other comment I got was because I did not have good shoes to go with it, so I was wearing my Wolverine steel toe boots. It was a very odd look. I would have worn shoes from my friend but she can wear kids shoes.

Gaven, aren't friends great. I am glad it worked out. The boots with the dress must have looked interesting. Great pictures. I love the guy in femme clothes look. That is the look that is me also.

Love the pics! Isn't it great to have us GG's around?!

It goes both ways though

We tend to "borrow" items too.

OOOOHHHH I love it. It is kind of like being a teenager all over again for me when I share with my husband or other friends! The older I get the more I seem to want to go back and slow the growing up process but with the maturity and knowledge that I have picked up along the way.
I have attended a few Renaissance events in Texas when I lived there. They were so much fun and in many ways liberating. I love seeing people act the way they want to without any fear of being judged or given a "label". I am one that always goes with the grain. I am slowly learning that going against it can be a freeing experence.
Have you always been into the Renaissance Fairs? Do you participate as part of the troupe?

I have been doing Faires from 1994 when I was in high school. I have been a member of quite a few guilds. My current guild is a Italian noble guild. I still play a Scott and have a non historical character. My faire name is my screen name. I also work security at many more faires then I go to with a guild at this point.
