I have a problem. I need some new shirts, but every time I go to the department store to find some, I quickly become bored at the selection in menswear, and find myself browsing through the women's apparel section. Next thing you know, I'm walking out of the store with an armload of dresses, blouses and skirts, and no shirts. What's a poor person to do?
Some of the websites, like Newport News, has conversion size charts for clothing and I used to copy it and take it with me as it can get confusing with the 14 Petitie vs. 14 Juniors vs. 14 Women's in dresses and then blouses and skirts. To further confuse the situation, I just read an article about how manufacturers are "cheating" on the size charts. Like 10 years ago a size 2 was basically a size 2 now it is equivalent to a size 0 and some manufacturers have gone to having a size 2 equalling a 0-0. So it will behoove us to learn to try things on before we buy or make sure we understand the store's return policy!
Shoes are a bit easier but it is still based on the manufacturer. I wear a male 9 or 9.5 depending on the type of shoe and the maker. In women's shoes I wear a 10w in most instances, but I have some that are a bit tight and some that are a bit loose, so try them on.
Shop on ladies, but carefully!

No one ever said that crossdressing was an easy sport or a cheap one...... "Sport of Kings.... I mean Queens" hehe
I'm the same way except i don't shop for male clothes unless my wife is along and forces me to buy some... It's usually I'm shopping for hardware of lumber or tools and i end up with skirts and dresses.....

I am having the same problem. I am looking for new shorts and found a skirt on the clearance rack at Sears for $2.16 after tax. Still no new shorts. I have looked at mens and womans shorts just not finding shorts I like.

This is from an actual Dear Abby column dated 4/2/07
Dear Abby: My daughter recently had a baby boy. Mother and baby are doing fine, but the problem is the sonogram during pregnancy showed a baby girl, according to the doctor. So now our grandson has a slew of pink blankets, jammies and clothes given by friends before little Jack was born. I say, no big deal.
My wife says it is a big deal. No way a boy should be dressed in pink. She's worried the color will give the wrong message to people, who will then treat our grandson like a girl in a way they won't even be aware of, even though they're told he's a boy.
She worries that this will somehow make him a cross-dresser when he's grown up and make him gay.
Our daughter and son-in-law are in a quandary, too, over the pink clothes. What do you think? -- Jack's Grandpa in Guerneville
As long as the baby gifts have not been used, there should be no problem exchanging them for items in the "right" color.
However, please tell your wife that her fears are groundless. Even if her grandson decides to become a cross-dresser later in life -- which, by the way is NOT related to what color clothes a man wore as a baby -- it won't make him gay. The majority of cross-dressers are heterosexual.
