Our Trip to Vegas

As reported here earlier, Stormy and I went to Vegas last week. We had a blast (as usual!). I got dressed and we went out on Friday -- first we went and got each of us new wigs at Serges -- Highly recommend them--they were wonderful. The salesperson took very good care of us -- and didn't realize I wasn't gg until we were fitting and trying on the wigs. And she stayed marvelous through the entire transacction. BTW--got a much shorter flippy spikey wig for summer---very trendy, very chic,,,and wore it the rest of the day. Stormy thinks it looks so good -- very natural. Stormy got a long frosted wig--also very nice.

So then we went shopping in Vegas malls--they had their spring stuff out!! Still not out here in the frozen midwest. Saw and tried on some very cool dresses, skirts and bouses. Bought some shorts for summer and some very nice blouses and tops. Even ran into some of those packs of evil teenage girls -- with no incidents or recoginition as anything other than two women shopping. Also bought some very nice hats and jewelry.

We went back to the hotel and changed. For the evening, I wore an aqua seqinned skirt, a black blouse and black slinky type jacket. No hose and low heel black satin sandals (with black bow).

Then we headed down to Fremont Street. Had dinner and then walked around some and played blackjack. That was interesting...sitting on one of those stools in a short skirt, keeping track of your purse, etc takes more talent than I realized before. Sat and talked to people at the tables for several hours including a husband and wife, the delaers, etc-- my enfemme voice worked very well. They asked me about my husband, my kids, our travels, and about my cousing (stormy) and just general chit chat. It was so nice just fitting in and being accepted as another lady out for some fun. And we both had a great time playing blackjack. Sometime after midnight, we ended up back at the hotel, had coffee and dessert.

The nice thing about Vegas--i have never not had fun there! 8)

I can say it does get hot in the summer. We had a meeting there several years ago. Early morning, drove into an underground parking garage, air conditioned elevator to meeting room, in meetings all day with catered lunch, back to car, back to hotel. Decided to take a walk at about 5:30 - OUCH!!!!! its 119 degrees outside. Really it was reported at 119 degrees. Back to my room, messed around in hotel, gambled a bit, then its 11:00 pm, I have to get out for a while --- FORGET THAT it is 110 now, must have been a cold front come through.
But I too can say as many times as I have been there never had a bad experience and always a good time!

Hi Missy--
A fun story to read. You and Stormy had a good time, and it comes across. I never know what to do with my purse while sittling at a barstool, for instance; they need pegs right in front of each stool!
This gal has yet to gamble while dressed, and she doesn't do too much of it anymore in male mode, either. I played some blackjack in Reno two years ago, but got burnt pretty quickly. I did remember to double-down, at one point.

And Vegas? I saw it out the window of a Union Pacific passenger train, 4 am. It was 1968, and I was on my way to LA with my parents. I've not seen Las Vegas since.

Glad you two had such a great time, Melyssa.

I think it would take 3 or 4 trips to get around to everythin we'd like to see since our trip in 2005. Next time we go it will be in the cooler months.
