A Rummage Sale Tale

Post by Jadeanne »

On Saturday, our church had a rummage sale.

My wife was in charge and I was a "utility infielder", ready to work wherever needed.

I spent most of my time as the cashier. The customers would present me with a piece of paper with the items and amount, written by our volunteers, then I would add them up and receive their payment.

My wife and I both donated some femme clothing. One of my donations was a light fabric pink floral print jacket dress with ruffled skirt hem and sleeves (thrift store bargain and the jacket was just a little tight when I buttoned it but I wore it several times and enjoyed it for the $3 I paid) that I had worn for a short time on Friday before taking it to church.

I saw the dress again at the sale in the bag of a GG. She filled 2 bags and my wife came with her to put the bags by me while she shopped some more. When my wife asked me to watch the bags, she joked that I should keep my hands off the pink dress even if it would probably look good on me. The customer laughed and said that it would probably look good on me.

When the customer finished (another bag full) and paid, I told her that I kept my hands off the pink dress. Little did she know :). I think she will get her $2 worth from it.

LOL, nothing like making a job fun.

I love rummage/yard/garage sales. We had one last weekend also. Sold all of our kids clothes from newborn through what they just grew out of. They are both in their early teens.

See what did I tell you!?

The church did not belch fire and brimstone on you! You did not turn into a pillar of salt nor did you burst into flames! Either God has a sense of humor, SHE is all right with crossdressers, or................. well I won't even go there!

Shop on ladies!

Carol Ann, more and more that is how I am buying clothes. Just buying clothes that I like. Some times feminine, some times masculine, some times feminine male, some times masculine female, some times androgynous. As long as I like them, they present an image to society they can handle, and they are acceptable to my wife, which is the more important one.
