Rho Tau Transgender ID Card

Post by Melyssa Anne »

Well -- With my wife's support, I've been now that I've been able to get out dressed and pass for the last year and a half--both with her and on my own.

She suggested a girlfriend trip for the two of us --a cruise sometime in the next 2 years....and who knows what else.

So looking into this, I came across the Rho Tau Transgender ID Card.

Has anyone gotten one? Used it for getting through airports in the US or on a cruise ship? Just wondering if they work -- if so, have to look into getting one.

Little apprehensive about giving them all that info unless I know its going to work and they are trustworthy.

Melyssa,

I done a search and found the web site. I will ask some old friends from Tri-Ess about it and see what they have to say.

Since the card is not a government issued card, it holds no weight. Just something nice to have if one doesn't want to explain their appearance.

http://www.pmpub.com/ is the link to dignity cruises.

I have a friend who has gone to the Southern Comfort Conference and take her ID machine and produced ID cards at about $25.00. They have your picture on it and a statement something to the effect that "the bearer of this ID is transgendered and should be afforded the same appreciation as anyone presenting as shown on this ID."

I have used it on several occassions as ID for admission to clubs and no questions asked.

Donna, as usual, is correct, since it is not Government issued DO NOT use it to clear TSA in the airport or in place of your Driver's license, etc.

In many states, you can get a offical ID card. Here in Texas, you can have both a DL and a ID card. Many of the girls in my Tri-Ess chapter has gone down to the DMV dressed, filled out the ID application, using thier male name and etc, Got their fem picture taken and received their offical Texas ID card with their fem picture on it. Since it is a offical state ID, it is good for use with TSA, Airlines, or anyplace that requires offical ID.

One must remember that not every state will allow you to have your driver's license or government-issued ID card with a photo as anything other than that which matches your name. If you are a GM, then most states still require your photo to match . . . you can't always have your photo taken en femme while the name on your driver's license indicates that you are a male "just because" you want to do so. The exception, of course, are for the pre-op's or non-op's, but the rules and requirements vary in each state.
