Good impressions...or..here we are :)

I had a wonderful night out this past Saturday. Every month, one of my groups plans a social gathering, usually at a mainstream place and this time was at an upscale restaurant on the Intercoastal waterway. Twelve of us went, pre-op, post-op, non-op and lil ole me. Food was not bad, not great either, but a very nice place. Ummm...it was an older crowd mixed in with a few young types and I'm sure they NEVER saw a table like ours
Heck, they even had Geritol dispensers in the ladies room (kidding). We did get a number of polite stares, and just one grouchy looking guy who would probably not be happy if he won the lottery (taxes you know). Lots of smiling, laughing and good talk by us all. When we were leaving, an elderly gentleman called me over to his table....at first I thought "uhoh", but he leaned over and said "you girls were great"! I thanked him and walked out with a huge smile (and I rarely smile as some of you know). As we were waiting for our cars at valet, a number of other patrons chatted with us...all favorable and fun. One girl was told that we brought a little life and merriment to the usual “stodgy” atmosphere of the place. I think we left a good impression on the staff and guests. Afterwards, a few of us went to the piano bar at the new Trump Hotel….an intimate room with couches and overstuffed chairs. There was a fabulous duo performing who we knew from earlier times at a GLBT restaurant, and they were great!!!!! Younger crowd, but we fit right in with no problems. Heck, at $6 for a Corona, they’ll welcome anyone….but all in all…..a terrific night. I wore a LBD and everyone else was dressed nicely also……I’m sure we were good “ambassadors” for our community and for those who were unfamiliar with T-girls in person, a comfortable encounter. Plus we tip well
