I did a few Google searches.
JoAnn+Crossdresser...........over 3 Millon hits. out of that found 9 references to me.
JoAnnDallas + Crossdreser ......... found the same nine references
JoAnn Dallas + Crossdresser.........did not find any references.
JoAnn Donaldson + Crossdresser......65,000 hit...none for me.
JoAnnDonaldson + Crossdresser.....found only 1 hit and it was me.
Found hits to four forums that I am on. So YEP, if you publish on any forum, you WILL show up in a Internet Search.

This week my SO and I had to cancel our visa card because someone tried to use it to order stuff on craigslist in California. We have been very careful to use it sparingly on the web, and only with established, name vendors, but, still it happens. Fortunately, the visa security software caught it, and notified us.
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

April some got a hold of our Visa card number also about 3 weeks back. CC company called and talked with the kids and did not leave a message or number. They then sent a fairly non-descriptive letter that I was to call about a week later. Guess they had been trying to call but were not getting anyone. Well my wife went to pay the bill on-line and it would not let her only said to call so I finally did. Our account had been locked due to suspicion activity and someone had tried to put through several purchases. We figured out our last valid purchase and everything else is not ours. I thank them and they are sending out new cards. I had also been very careful where I use my cards especially on line.

Reminds me of a sign I saw while driving down a small country road. There was a driveway that merged off into the woods and the sign at the front said:Virginia wrote:Hey Carol Ann,
I will have to send you a copy of the sign I am going to post at the bottom of our driveway!
"IF YOU CAN READ THIS -- YOU'RE IN RANGE!"
Think they will get the hint?
Virginia
"DO YOU BELIEVE IN AN AFTERLIFE? TRESPASS AND FIND OUT!"
We now return you to the regular topic of the thread........
Hugs!

One of the tricks is to charge something that only cost between $1-$3. If it goes thru OK, then they will go for the big dollar items. Bank of America Fraud service will trip the Fraud Alert on hits like this. We got a hit like this and BoA Fraud Alert kicked in. After we confirmed who we were they canceled the account and issued us new cards.

Back on our staying in the closet, I have shared personally identifying information on this site using Private messaging. Is that information definitively off-limits to the search robots? Silver Lady?
Not that I have any particular motivation, but having belonged here for several years now, and recently graduating to the next level of goddess, I think I would be comfortable sharing real names with some of my closest friends here. That isn't meant to sound like a solicitation, just a recognition of how comfortable one can become in the presence of such wonderful people. But BIG BROTHER is not one of those friends
, and I don't want to be on public display.
Which is why I momentarily hesitate to post a hopeful news article - because some unpleasant people
might (correctly or incorrectly) infer that it is from my hometown newspaper, and come looking for me.
Bernice is my only alias. If you see me post on news articles of gender interest, it's probably me, though I am not the only one to use Bernice as an alias. I don't want to be paranoid.
Hugs,
Bernice

And links to news articles aren't searchable via google or any other search engine.

Hi, Bernice -
Everything that Donna said is correct. The searchbots do not have access to anything that is restricted access, and PM's are on the top of that list; in fact, not even the Site Admins have access to members' PM's. The searchbots also do not have access to any of the user group sections - A Place for SO's, The Journey Beyond, and Hot Topics - as well as the Membership List and all member profiles.
As to pseudonyms, obviously SilverLady is not my real name, but it is the only name I use for the net, and I'm not the only SilverLady out there, either. If anyone were trying to discover when/where I've commented on the net, they'd have a lot of work cut out for them.
I seriously doubt that I'm important enough for someone to be that interested . . . and the same can be said for most of our members, which is why I say don't anyone go overboard on the paranoia. I'm sure there are by far more important things to be concerned about than someone possibly wanting to and/or trying to discover the identity of a CD, SO, etc.
