I think it might be intimidating to newcomers.

Also why have more requirements than neccesary?

Because many do post their location, most will I think follow that example once they get comfortable.

I agree with many of the others. A location should not be required. Yes, it would be nice to know where others are located. However, when and if a member feels like posting their location, they can do so.

I think it should be left up to the individual. Some don't want to share that part of info. I know that when I'm reading a post, a lot of times I'll resort back for a mon=ment to their avitar to see where they are from. If it insn't listed, oh, big deal. I know for myself, I would have to say that probably 90% of the members here don't even know where the "high desert" is in So. Calif. so it really doesn't matter too much. But at least they know it's in California. :lol:
