Opps, I have watch what I say

Post by JoAnnDallas »

Those of you that do go out dress and seem to not have a problem, ever accidentally out yourself? I did Saturday. I arrived at my Nail Salon dressed and couple of the girls commented on how pretty my outfit was. I had on a White top, Designer jeans, and White 2.5" slides. I got my usual Pedicure/toe nail polish/manicure/fill/nail polish/eyebrows waxed. When I do the whole thing I start off with the eyebrows wax, then the pedicure, and then the nails. So I am sitting in the Pedicure chair and a GG is sitting on my right and another GG then sits on my left. The one on my left then comments on how nice my outfit looks. I thank her. Then she says "Where did you find that top?" Without hesitating or even thinking, I said, "Oh. my WIFE got this top for me". She gets a confused look, then says, "Oh.....OH". She recovers her composure and continues to chit-chat. No sooner than did I say what I said, that I realized my mistake. Since the GG's did not say anything else, I did not volunteer anything. I did get wondering later, if she thought I was a Lesbian or TG. I suspect she thought I was a lesbian. ROFLOL.

That's always amusing. I have no intention of editing my relationship out of discussions with people, so it happens to me with some regularity. What was most entertaining was a discussion with a co-worker who hosts LGBT lunches, so you'd think she'd be pretty used to the range of possibilities. When I mentioned that my anniversary was coming and my wife and I might be out of town she asked what state we'd gotten married in and started recounting lesbian couples she knew who had chosen various destinations for different reasons. It was very touching and I'm more than happy to be read as lesbian.

You probably gave her one more reason to think she hates lesbians...'they get there first to the good clothes sales'.
